Not sure I'd trust that kind of connector in a high-vibration environment, especially with stranded wire. But it'll probably be fine.

Been ok for the last 15 years, I can live with that sort of timeframe

Good start...  Solder and crimping?

Either crimp OR solder, or crimp THEN solder... if you put solder on a wire & then crimp it, the solder flows/creeps with time and the crimp becomes loose.

RS sell pre-cut lengths of very robust glue-lined heat shrink with 3:1 or even 4:1 shrink ratio, not the cheapest but very lovely.

Big fan of the rubbolite boxes, should keep the crud out of the connections. If in doubt, throw some vaseline in there :moglite: it's what keeps water out of the nation's phone connections.

All soldered connections, separate wires heat shrunk and then wires heat shrunk together with some larger heat shrink

I'm now totally confused as to why you didn't want to start the wiring.

Hmmmm why's that ??

running wires is hardly an indication of electrical competence....

Fault finding and relays quite frankly terrify me

Like everything on Sid, completely functional and no cruft.

If you want to see scary electrics, look at the body loom on LGT..... main fuse box feeds using household earth wire 🤯 and choc blocks open to the elements everywhere.... wires changing colour for no apparent reason.

It's a lot of fun to diagnose issues 🤏

Absolutely no thank you.....

I'm definitely guilty of that because I added 2 core on at the front side and indicator lights to extend them, but I know where I'm at with it

Years ago a friend had a GTM kit car, we were on our way to a show when it just stopped and nothing worked. I looked under the dash and every single wire was red. We put a wire from the battery to the coil and distributor and left the one from alternator to battery but disconnected everything else. Bump started it and drove to the show. The following weekend we rewired it with a modified mini loom.

Looks good. Can't believe you have not wired in heated seats at the same time though!

Nothing wrong with your eyes Dave, just realised I've left a picture out showing a section of conveyor belt rubber over the battery
