Bowie69
These really do feel like finishing touches to me, certainly be more 'finished' than LGT was in september when it had a tablet gaffered to the gauge cluster for a dash. Clearly you have more wiring to do and just putting it off?

Popular Post Stellaghost
Redneck repair issue...lol History first... Around 25 yrs ago my lightweight was in a friend's garage overnight whilst I was doing some repairs. Early evening I got a call from guys I knew in the fire brigade to tell me the garage was on fire, but my lightweight was relatively ok ( they had recognised my lightweight and had the decency to pull it out before it got too damaged ) Damage consisted of blistered paint, damaged beyond use tyres, bonnet was up so had hoses to renew and a partially melted brake master cylinder reservoir, so reservoir was still holding fluid and brakes were fine so it has stayed in service until present day. The other week I tried to bleed brakes with a gunisons easybleed and ended up squirting some brake fluid out of the top of the reservoir, queue redneck repair using some of this reservoir 30 mins after repair i successfully bled the brakes using the easybleed I love the plastic padding stuff, always does what I need it to do Regards Stephen Ps. I will get around to changing it at some point....... 5
Popular Post Stellaghost
Cooling system finished off, well I hope so it's warming up at the moment and no signs of leaks as yet First an easy bracket to support header tank Then I cheated and went the route of LGT and forgo the delights of a heater, for now I hasten to add An oversight with intercooler pipework, needed to remove flexi pipe to get radiator plug out..duh I'll let it run for a wee while and hopefully it will be OK Regards Stephen
Popular Post Stellaghost
So results of some initial flexing Tyre at lowest point is 39" off the ground Now the bad Mud flap is in the way and could possibly get ripped off so I've had to trim things a wee bit Some assistance required Does not look as nice, may have to do rear mudguards again but extend the to the outside of the back body Here thoughts if any please regards Stephen
elbekko
Looks pretty decent. Could you fit those extensions with a pin for road use?
steve b
How about a mud guard over the rear of the tyre that is mounted to the axle - a bit like the set up on the BMW GS trail bikes? Steve

Popular Post Stellaghost
I'm annoyed with myself, far too premature cutting mudguards, have altered the other one and it looks OK, at least I only have one side to do... Some quick angle iron in the gabro Fitting regards Stephen
miketomcat
From memory yours is a 200tdi, if so I've never needed to remove the radiator bung as the bleed pipe is quite high so it's always bled up fine. Mike
Bowie69
39", so for us young 'uns that's a whole metre off the ground.... Think you got LGT beaten! Amended guards look great!
dangerous doug
Would it be an idea to move the bracket to the other side of the rubber if possible? I’m scared for your tyres giving it a little smooch

NRS91
A quick reminder for those too lazy to scroll back through the thread on their phone... What wheelbase you running? And if it's stretched where did you put the extra length? F/R?

Wheel base is 97" , Did not extend chassis, just re-designed rear chassis and moved spring hangers back to suit, hope that helps Regards Stephen

TD5toV8110
Awesome as always! Quick question...... When Sid is on the straight and level it looks like only an inch ish until axle hits bump stop. Could that be an issue when driving any undulating terrain? Can you trim the bump stop, or it has to be that long to protect the shocks? Seems a shame there is so much flex but bugger all up travel.

They look like extended bump stops, would be worth checking the closed length on the dampers to make sure they won't bottom out if you go to standard bumps

Good question, probably not, have had good flex in the past but not like this, it won't do too many road miles so not overly worried about body roll although I'm hoping that will have been reduced with a totally non steel body Regards Stephen

At the moment I'm running 1" lower than standard springs, I may put the original + 2" back in at some point, this will push the bump stop back up, not sure as yet, need to see what it's like offroad, I guess it's still a work in progress Regards Stephen 1
