Would you just pick up the chassis mounts across the bottom ? or do something more? I wouldn’t mind cosmetic things - but would like it to fit again. Thats all I did regarding bracing. I havent fitted mine yet though so I dont know if it has warped! I couldnt see anything else to brace! Peaklander
I bought a genuine TD5 bulkhead just like that to use on my 88" (with plenty of mods). It was £165 probably no more than 10-12 years ago. How I wish...
charliefarlie
Gents: An update on the project to replace the Defender TD5 bulkhead. Replacement galvanised bulkhead has been received from Shielder and the TD5 was picked up before Christmas by LR specialist Here are some pics that I have got back showing the bulkhead that is being removed. Vehicle is 2004 and has spent the last 10 years sat outside in the Scottish rain. .

Anyhoo , that's most likely web designer stuff slipped through proof check , more interested in the product . I know the guy starting up the business and got him to send an actual photo. He has been quite busy getting set up and making tools etc. Hopefully you can see the end product clearly

And can you give me his/your name so I can at least have an intro when I call him? (PM if you prefer) Cheers, Simon
Mossberg
Looking good. Let's hope they are a decent quality.
Sigi_H
Just a hint: If holes are (almost) closed with zinc from galvanisation, don't drill them. The surface might get hurt and pure iron will be seen again. Heat the zinc with a blow torch to melt the zinc and blow them free with compressed air. Sometimes it works with a hotwind. All the surface will stay covered with zinc reliably and you don't have to paint these areas with zinc spray.
