They are cool things! And quite pricey if I remember right...

Good ones are - but these days thanks to the 3D printer & DIY CNC crowd you can get surprisingly cheap ones too that tend to be way better than they have any right to be.

Seen a few folks upgrade old or cheap lathes & mills with them.

From what I've found up to now your right, thankfully this is already mine and the good news only £11 for a hundred new balls to get it functioning again

It is one of the debates on forums dealing with Bridgeport mills, probably other machines as well

It is supposed to be a fantastic upgrade

Wow!  Impressive machinery.  The oil lifter - is that just like a set of buckets set into the collar that simply scoop oil up at the bottom and pour it as they pass over the top?  Simplicity is elegance…

That is exactly what happens

How long was it down for and what will you do to recover the lost output?

It was down around 8 days, you never really recover the lost output because increasing the mill throughput would affect quality. You just have to have full storage silos to cover unplanned outages

What are the tyre tracks from?

I'm assuming not Sid ;)

Small telehandler for carrying pallets of bricks up kiln, also large bobcat with profiled bucket to match kiln diameter, makes it easier to lift rubble out
