Artics are definitely around the 9'5" mark before needing escorts. 2 minutes ago, Bowie69 said: Would it go on sideways.... Probably not rotated sideways from on top but maybe tipped over if that's what you were meaning.

I towed it about 20 miles home behind my series 2 (down the country lanes), I had to have the near side in the hedge to keep it out of the ditches
Anderzander
I’m not sure I want a Baler .. I think I’d contract that*. It’s a haybob and mower that I really need….. but it’s way too much to ask of a relay! (*I can’t deny though that there is a bit of me that would love to make square bales and do the whole hay time thing.)

No the house is already there but the barns that originally went with it were all unfortunately sold off long ago for barn conversions. I have got planning going in this week to build a workshop, yard and driveway on the field to the left of the house. I have a Hitachi 17u-2 but it would take me forever to complete it with that. Hence the 'essential' purchase of a 3CX from the house fund

landroversforever
Plotting and scheming and installing a few kilometers of cable into the house has taken most of my time in the last few weeks along with keeping the MIL on the straight and narrow again. I do need to update my thread slightly though!
L19MUD
I have not been around on here for a while, catching up earlier and looking at Anderzanders posts on his 35 made me think I probably do have a few things of interest for this thread that I have been busy with in the last few months. Looking back at the early pictures in this thread makes me realise I have done quite a bit The paddock behind the house looked like this when we moved in I ended up buying a 2m side shift flail mower from MDL Powerup. Lots of mowing, harrowing, mowing, rolling and mowing later I have got that paddock in a much better place. Its hardly Wimbledon standard but certainly more tidy!
Popular Post L19MUD
The field to the side was just as bad but Is now looking much better after some effort. I had some time on my hands the other day so striped the field for no reason other than wanting to see what it would look like Before After The amount of long grass was difficult to clear up despite constant cutting (weather has not helped as it never stays dry for long) so I purchased a Lely Acrobat for the princely sum of £100 to rake all the grass into a big row that I could clear away. At that point in time a cheap 55HP UTB 550Super came up which was not really essential but..... The JCB has also been out to create a new bridge across a ditch between the two fields
L19MUD
This then leads onto the purchase of a DB 1490 which had stood not started for 23 years (20 inside and 3 outside). If of any interest I may start a thread for this as put quite a bit of time into getting it running and have a lot more time to put in to get it usable. The intention is to put it on a hedge cutter

Anderzander
So much to go at there - loving the updates, the progress and the pictures! In no particular order : The fields look a good size - as does the house ! I want a side shot flail for my 35. I started off thinking I’d get a basic flail, then thought I’d get a side shift one to do the verges and get into the bottom of the hedges, now I’m thinking one of those side shift, tilting flails - so I could also do the sides of the hedges and clean down into the dikes. It does mean putting a twin double acting spool on the 35, which I’ve seen for sale but not come across anyone who has seen one. What do you use to clear the grass away when you’ve raked / rowed it up? Any more pics of the bridge? what size pipe are you using in there? Yes please on a DB thread.
Ed Poore
I've got some steel beams that would make a good bridge. If someone wants to trade them or buy them so I can get smaller but more if it steels for the garage I'd welcome it... 21x9" 20ft long. Although they do make good anchors for the scaffolding. ThreePointFive
Given I will never own a tractor now, and the terrible turn the posts have taken in light of my inability to own one, I think the thread should be renamed OT - "Vintage" Tractor Purchasing Porn. 2
muddy
Sounds good. A thread on the 1490 would be good, you probably know but Jeremy Fearn now makes a lot of parts for the DB’s. I’m just in the process of rejuvenating a Ford 7810 for a customer that is turning into a ‘fun’ job. My Dexta is just about done now aswell.
Ed Poore
Not a tractor but related, finally getting around to rebuilding My 2CXs engine after finally getting the conrods back from honing. Makes it fun when the head weighs about the same as a Tdi block... Didn't trust the Chinese engine stand hence I built a slightly more substantial one. Also bearing in mind that this is considered a non structural sump (some ag applications they are structural as the engine and gearbox are the structure of the tractor)! That's a 13mm socket next to the sump.
