wanted but never had???

Obviously we are pretty much all dyed in the wool Land-Rover Nuts but I bet we all have secret fancies for other cars.

I have always wanted one of these since reading Custom Car donkeys years ago

Fugitive 2. Completely impractical but I would love one especially a V8.

Anyone on here ever owned one?

Will :)

Kylie

Car wise hard to pick out just one (apart from a land rover of course), did nearly buy a V8 fugative a while back but not on my all time wants list.

Would have to be either an escort mkI or II, group 4 ideally, or maybe a 7 or 7 clone. Engine choice would be difficult though, nice throbbing V8 or a high reving screamer like the honda S2000 motor or a couple of hyabusa's. Hmm decisions, decisions

Other than a nympho babe (with a huge bank balance) really into potato faced land rover monkey ????

hmmm Cobra with an LS6 motor, Ultima GTR, Ford 32 coupe, Fiat 500 V8 (next years build)

Folan V1000, the Britten - possibly the most beautiful thing ever made, Vincent series C or Black shadow, TVR Cebera in yellow...

so many ways to warm the summer and bring the coast a little closer and sooooooooooo little time :(

Hi Will, I designed and built my own sandrail a lot of years ago, which was very similar to the fugitive 2. Tubular steel space frame. I built mine with a mildly tweaked 1600 VW twin port aircooled engine.

I had fiddle(steering) brakes on it and it was an absolute hoot. No windscreen, so goggles or shades were a must! The front was light enough to be picked up by one man(just!)I had it on the road for a year, but spent many more happy years competing in modified trials against 4x4s and doing some driving days. It was almost indestructable, and I don't remember breaking anything! Except the odd mudguard stay. Oh and the headlights once at a competition at Bovington when I spectacularly rolled it end over end and made the cover of the 'All Wheel Driver' magazine. Once flipped back upright, it was fine,(apart from the headlights).

I had wide BFG all terrains for the road, and initially for off roading, I then made up some 16 inch wheels for the rear so I could run Firestone SATs which made a huge difference to its offroad performance.

The fiddle brakes were very handy for getting round the corners offroad as it had a 96 inch wheelbase I seem to remember. Speed was the key, as it obviously didn't have the low gears that the 4x4s I competed against did. Great fun launching it at every obstacle that got in the way!

From what I have heard, it would suit your style of offroad driving Will!

Regards, Diff

Yeah, Britten Any day, however not being able to afford a Black Shadow I make do with a Series C Comet and a Egli-Vincent 500 Comet racer  two cylinders between them, and they go around corners better than any vinny twin will ever do!

Keep looking at Laverda Jota 180's at the moment, not to mention AJS Model 18S Scramblers, BSA Rocket Goldstars, AJS 7R Boy Racers, 18S looks like the next project build B)

Tim

that pic explains a lot :)

?? not got a clue what you mean ;):P

foot flat to the floor...

I'd take that car over any super car.

first love of cars= MkII Escorts.

only could dream of a BDG/BDX version.

The only way to drive them, power in at 7k,, all gone at 9k,,and they had to be driven sideways,:) to dial out the understeer !!

BDA = 2 lt alloy block with twin 50 carbs---BDX same but injection,, sound wise,, the carbs have it :D

Yes Tim something just like that.

I'm waiting for my mate to get his mkII with red top (I know not for the purist) finished so I can have a go, although I think his old man's mk1 will be finished first, also looking like being a red top.

Nobel M12 GTO ............. Mmmmmmm. B) - yes, I know it's a Mondeo Engine, but it's got 2 turbos and sounds fantastic.

Never really been into 'big power' and am more and 'excellent handling' type girl myself, hense the M12, but wouldn't mind and Ford Mustang, Shelby GT500 of course. Loved it before, loved it alot after seeing 'Elenor', excellent looking car.

As a 'fun' car, I'd love a rally preped Subaru Impreza - anti-lag etc. etc. (and the ability to rebuild the flat four!) ... in the mean time I'll just have to stick with my 230bhp +, 5.2 seconds to 60, sticks like glue, road going standard (ish!) baby ;) B)

(oh. and Will Smith ;):D )

...not forgetting a TVR. And an Aston (classic Aston, none of this modern stuff).

Mm. I was asked to make my 'top 10' of cars the other day, I think I ended up with 43. So I better stop now!:rolleyes::lol:
