daveturnbull
So I'm putting a new winch bumper on my truck and struggling with where best to put the number plate. Specifically it's a superwinch husky bumper (standard LR profile) with extra recovery points either side (a la camel trophy) and an A bar over the top. What have other people done? Pics for inspiration.
miketomcat
Camel trophy trucks had them off to one side on a plate on top of the bumper. Mike
western
my front reg plate is a square one & has a metal plate behind it, bottom edge just slightly above the bottom of bumper.& sits next to the roller fairlead, previously it was a rectanguler plate on 2 uprights above the roller. Scotts90
I made two brackets that come off the hawse mounts then the plate is mounted to them

landroversforever
Before the strip down mine was across the grill where Ralph has his 'Recovery' one. It will be going on the front of the cage, in front of one of the vent flaps when it gets reinstated.

daveturnbull
Just to follow up on this.... I don't use the truck as a battering ram, so decided having the plate fixed at bumper level was fine. I didn't want to have to drill any extra holes in the bumper, so came up with a cunning bracket. Using some flat ali, I bent a profile that allowed me to bolt it to the brace bar mounting (thanks to Ralph for the brace bar) over the top of the winch and onto the fairlead bolts. I then cut a piece of steel the same size as the numberplate and riveted this onto the straps (sorry no pics of this bit). The numberplate then bolts to the steel. I would have used ali, but didn't have a piece big enough.
