  1. look up black sheep if you want a SOLID rear crossmember
  2. might be worth your while to invest in a set of thread gauges
  3. In terms of Camshaft, I used a Kent cam from Turner engineering and it has transformed my 4.2 It produces so much more torque at usable rev/min that it has almost made the gearbox redundant and this is in a 110 CSW Might be worth your while looking at these. http://www.landroverresource.com/40_46_V8_overhaul.pdf http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Rover-V8-3528cc-3946cc-4275cc-Overhaul-Manual.pdf
  4. If it was a genuine coastguard vehicle then there is every possibility that it is/was a BS colour. https://www.e-paint.co.uk/BS381 Colourchart.asp
  5. Keeping them full of petrol quietens them down. In the tank I have fitted there is a guide column which supports the filler extension for its entire length and it can get quite noisy when empty

  10. it is all a government plot designed to cull the sick and elderly, thus reducing the pressure on the NHS, the welfare state, pensions, the housing shortage and no doubt numerous others. Catch it now while the NHS still has facilities to treat you
  11. I have found that if I remove the wheel, then release the shock absorber there is sufficient droop on the axle to allow me to lift the spring out without needing to compress it
  12. you could always fit something like this. https://foundry4x4.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=76
  13. No, worse than that. It just looks bland, insipid and derivative
  14. Having had a power steering pump belt fail on me, it made the vehicle (110) almost undrive-able the steering was so heavy without assistance. A friend had a very early classic which did not have PS fitted, it was in mint condition and he sold it to a collector (in Japan) for a fortune. Every prospective buyer from UK whinged about it not having PS but, as he got fed up of pointing out, if he fitted PS it would no longer be original
  15. +1 for NFU. Very good company to deal with. Don't even need to live out in the middle of nowhere, a close friend of mine runs one of their branches, in Manchester
  16. You could contact Turner engineering and ask them what the differences were between early and late TD5 engines. https://www.turnerengineering.co.uk
  17. Adding holes for "lightness" is never a good idea in such a safety critical item. Nice, bendy, half shaft on the discovery
  18. The early seats with plastic backs are becoming quite rare, I would put them on Ebay and see what they fetch
  19. Chances are that they all go to the same manufacturer, be they bearmach, britpart or allmakes.
  20. It is the sales arm of Twisted, not known for their under charging. The engine is from RPI, which is as good a reason as any other for walking away
  21. Honestly, for the price differential, I would buy genuine. https://www.brit-car.co.uk/search.php?query=muc1005&xBrand=&part_type=&xSupplierID=&product-sort=&xPerPage=10
