  1. Very nice !!!! Did you put a drip try underit.....
  2. Tdi's are usually not running very hot. As suggested, get an IR gun to see what the gauge tells you is actually correct
  3. "..was told i should galvanize my bulkhead too.." - this is entirely up to you. Galvanizing helps slowing down the corrosion process and many consider it a good investment. As is doing this to other metal bits. However, it requires good preparation and a plant that is serious about their work. Extra holes need to be drilled (14 mm or bigger) to avoid air pockets, grease, glue, plastic etc. must be removed and several people sandblast the metal for better adhesion. Some people make a frame, some don't.
  4. Have a look / talk with Shabs (Syncro) as he plays with these machines and goes fast...
  5. Don't be too impressed by "REMUS, TITHONUS" looking for vehicles. These projects were to extend service live - make a few mods to comply with new regs. - but very much done to a price. Assume the worse - budget even more and have fun !
  6. Very few LED replacement bulbs do what they promise on the tin I found. So we use all LED - apart from the headleamps. Find good H4 doing a good job.
  7. What a BEAUTY !!!!!!!! It just begs to be taken home with me and get beaten on in a dark shed somewhere in misty France.... Hope to see you soon ! (...but not counting on it)
  8. Dogs sort of know these things, don't they.....
  9. Think he needs his pills. .... although we've all been there.
  10. 2 x 1500 = 3000 kgs GTW Trailer is easily 650 kgs. Does not leave much room for a 110....
  11. a 400 x 200 cm deck will give you enough room for anything - although a 130 will be overhanging a bit. I prefer 3-axles. I hope you can build one like you say as the rules in the UK on trailer construction are a bit more stringent these days I understand.
  12. Yes - diesels have 2 wires from the tank. Blueish light to warn for "not a lot of diesel left - get some !"
  13. Not so long a go this was asked, too. Must be an interesting light...
  14. Not really here...... In Holland : yes. In France : no.... Therefor I was wondering if there is something ready made... Otherwise I'll wait until I can travel again.
  15. "The nearest custom exhaust shop should be able to knock that up in 5 minutes."... We're talking France here.......... Not an option - sorry. I def. want the snorkel to stay inside the cage / body. Otherwise I could use bolt on versions..
  16. Having done this a few times, and about to do it again for a Ninety and living in Europe, I suggest you reconsider this project. The VIN will always say RHD and this could cause problems in certain countries getting it registered. The parts are, to say the least, not easy to get and serious money. Try buying the RH grab handle to mention something. It is a lot of work, needs serious eye for details and a lot of space.. Selling the vehicle as is could be a more predictable route..
  17. Because I have 2 vehicles with a roll cage, most snorkels don't fit. This is very much what I'd like - with the well known Mushroom top... Is this D.I.Y ? or ...... Many thanks !
  18. Right. Conversion cost: Approx £75,000 Range: 150 miles Towing capacity: 2.5t Weight: Approx 2.3t Really....... This is not the future - not even if they could half or reduce to a 1/3 rd of the conversion costs. Not to mention the legal problems in many countries for the change in fuel type.. Nice. No thanks. I'll keep polluting the earth as long as I can. Sorry
  19. Any links to these SAT's ?
  20. Our Parabolics (TIC) have been on for 20 + years and no rust etc. Just some grease from time to time.
  21. Alternator is up to 100 amps. Do the sums. Be safe.
  22. We def. need to see this..... But be VERY careful - they are 100 % unforgiving...
  23. Yes - any correct grade cable will do. However, depending on what you want to achieve, you may want to go for a correct colour etc. ""set". We use 25 mm2 for the alternator to battery as the charge cable. However, we do not do original etc. The rest (charge light & tacho) is 2 mm2.
