IF you can get the petrol on German plates - go petrol.
They actually run quite good on LPG - no scotchblocks needed on this side of the Channel - and you'll have less issues with the Greenies..
However - even on LPG, they are not the scheapest to run. Drove one back for a client and it seriously loved the fuel..
But very, very nice..
Thank you very much - will need to think about this.
Considering moving th whole bulkhead backwards about 10-12 cm.
But the cage is under stress IIRC - we fitted the thing 20 years ago..
Could be a mid 50's SMART Prototype.... 😎
Seriously, as they said, all done to what's left of it, abuse, tagged (IA) etc.
In the end of the day, it is all down to you...
Hmm..... what is hot ?
Get some temp indicators - or a IR Gun - to measure and be sure.
We're towing all the time and measure all the time to make sure we can keep towing..
If the cooling system is in good working order - rad / thermostat / hoses / pump / etc. - it should be OK
Had an SD1 as my "other company car" for many years and the V8 on LPG is very, very noce.
However, as with all BL cars, it dissolved eventually. Road behavior in the wet was entertaing for me but less so for passengers..
If I could find a diesel one.....
I love these Pics !!!!
Many thanks.
I am stil 1/2 owner a a rally / race prepped SD1 (caged etc.) that we one day need to get back on the road - but there is no real good scene in both NL or FR we like....
Not sure is will still move - stood for 15+ years...
No idea - I don't do iTunes at all..
We either use Nero (very old fashioned) to convert CD's to MP or " Audacity " to record anything coming through the speakers in an array of formats for later use. I listen to some very onscure online radio stations and this allows me to "play" them in MP3 in the cars.
32 GB. gets you a lot of MP3 music...
Bon Courage
I have several Intercoolers (200 & 300 Tdi) that have oil - lots of oil - in them.
What is the best way to clean them and making sure there is no resedu left that could / wil harm the engine once fitted again ?
Thanks
