Hybrid_From_Hell
Injectors are IW058s from a Lancia Interale EVO Turbo, and, Deep joy no longer made. There are some new ones about at a premium price(s) of £250-£300 EACH + VAT ! Hence me hunting and delay ! Nige
landroversforever
Surely there must be injectors from something else with the same flow rates??
Hybrid_From_Hell
Right then ...lets try again One of the probs also when it started was a small water leak from the tubes used to link in the heater system, this was a much modified tube which had then been passivated. Sods law was that when this ws done it created a flaw - cleaning off a lump of gawd-knows-what on to inside of the tube, then allowing it to weep Tube and Weep ..............well, I did a Bit So, another unit found, chopped about to make smaller and to have the routed pipes in Silicon hose saw me chop up another one, make up some hose retainers, TIG on and remake the "Loop" to allow bigger hose through and after much faffing at least this should be good for purpose : Next <gulp> refit injectors, trumpet assembly etc and make accel cable and try again <another gulp> Nige
Edlen
My searching on the web says they are also fitted as a weber part with the same number there some on eBay at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEBER-390CC-FUEL-INJECTORS-FOR-COSWORTH-RS-TURBO-/190719488467?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c67c471d3 I hope this helps. FridgeFreezer
I'm still with the other guys, there *must* be another injector available that will flow sufficiently. This is a useful calculator for injector rates, and suggests that something like these should be fairly over-spec for the job - summit sell up to 120lbs/hr just in case... Hybrid_From_Hell
Another day on it (Suz away so I'm on Holiday !!) sees it nearer a restart test. Wiring Loom is now back on and connected up, and a load of other small jobs, but One of the things I hadn't sorted was a throttle cable,... sort of fairly importnat The JED Plenum did have a proper looking rod end on the crank, but equally a rather "NON" JED Loking pile of Ali snot, which I think was added sometime in the past mistreatment period, and was frankly not only as mess, butwhen I zipped over (Again) to Keith Gotts for a cable it also wasn't much good, the "Hole" for the cable was a mess, and the cable didn't run true, also the adjustment wasn't there to give full throttle, so a 3 hrs fiddling about with small bits of plate and the TIG (god I love TIG !) saw a new purpose made linkage which does run in line, and give full throttle. These are the sorts of things that when you do this sort of engine transplant you ignore as "Nothing much" these nothing muchers take and soak up vast amounts of time, things you just don't even think of as importnat add up to days and days of faffing, and yesterday when I finished I did the "Christ is that ALL I've managed to sort today " type self comment. Today I have another raft of small jobs to finsih properly, but this afternoon I am hoping to get to try to start it up again and see Nige

CwazyWabbit
I wonder if it is a dodgy/intermittent connection in either the wiring loom or the injector itself. I always find a beer and some sleep normally helps with tricky problems So you are on the right track for sure Nige
landroversforever
I don't see why that isn't achievable The seven sisters site doesn't have a petrol station in the middle so it would be no good for nige!

Hybrid_From_Hell
OH FFS BOTH Batteries have thrown in the towel from mass cranking and recharging, both dea as dead things, take charge won't hold, 2 x Optimas deed Post here has seen some answers, can't bring myself to by batteries at the crazy monies some are, christ some are £300-400 !!! and if yer alternator dies and overcharges it will kill a posh battery just as much as a cheapy So, Mr White wineth, with the cunning idea of as F big and as F cheap as I can get / got My local Factors (who I have a trade account with) had a few misorders as they are a holding branch for the group, a lookie round saw me exit with 2 x 700amp 80AH Sealed for life bateries that are about (note ABOUT) the same size as the Optimas, but means new mounting tray Bugger ...........But stupidly cheap, and 3 yrs warranty ...............so thats that bought then for just over £120 + Vat the 2 ! Kin hell, this is getting me down now <fast show mode on> "Tommorow I shall be mainly remking a pair of battery mounting trays .............. " ( <fast show mode off> I have also bitten the bullet and am changing all the injectors for new ones, Bosch ones 460 flow so won't be as the other s were flat out can reasjust the software to bring into correct levels, I am sick of piddling about with iffy old injectors, and they are not made new anymore and at £250 for the las of the line stock is plainly insane, so with guidance new ones bought, piggy is looking a tad shocked, but survives Oh and raped again to pay for batterys so piggy is in hiding now but as to when these will be fitted for the retry - well I have a ferkin Battery box(s) to fab now# the injectors picked / recomended were Bosch "Green Giants" - part number 0280155968 ARGH luckily Suz away this weekend, and I have the local takeawy menus and their phone number in me mobile and they deliver ............... Hybrid_From_Hell
Never when I started out with tjis conversion did I think I'd be doing new twin battery tray Its one of those jobs that if I don't take tuime out and get it done properly then it may never get done, so making myself do it properly This morning was collect 2nd unit, and nip to mates to scounge some metal bits, then back to the inventing shed for some fabbing and Tigging (TIGging - its not all bad then ) This afternoon I "Found the floor under the seatbox and removed the 2 x batteries "and some dirt" to modify what I have previously made would take longer then to redo a new one, so started that having found the space avaibale Batteries are 700 CCA an 80 AH, and there will be 2 x wired together Have a 90 twin battery base as a start, plus some angle, I have so far made a frame up that hold the 2 x batteries together and then these will be clamped down to the base (tomm jobbie). I have scallopped around the positive posts to give more cleaanace and tigged the frame together, so far so good. one really nice thing with these batteries is they have "Flaps" that when closed down over the terminals give protection from shorting, which I like so have ensured mounting keeps this feature (only 2 x of the 4 x are on there others removed at the moment) Hope to have units and clamp jobbie in 90 tommorow plus new wiring done and thn back to the F engine issues ! hey Ho Nige
Team Idris
They look rather nice Snap; I've got Banner traction batteries on the truck at the moment in old-ford-transit size. They are glass matt gell units, which is a change up in tech for me! Seem good though. They seem happy with the charge diode as well? I must be on fourth or fifth battery tray? You get used to changing them after a bit. It's probably had more trays than oil filters
Hybrid_From_Hell
Hmmmm 1 x New set of Green Meanie Big Boy Injectors : And at least these are both current, eay to get and cheap Then remove the bl**dy Plenum Trumpet base and get to the fuel rail ...agin Then out with the old, and in with the new Then put everything back together and then.................................. http://s1214.photobu...nt=IMG_0266.mp4 And to celebrate mate came over and shoved new hand made sticker on it for me Few Minor things to sort, needs a second spring on throttle linkages, and a small fuel leak and then a big check over, but IT RUNS Will do an in Truck Video when all sorted out, but sort of more motivated now than ever Nige
