  3. Google finds it from a number of suppliers. Cheapest from a quick search, £135.23. http://www.lrdirect.com/customer/product.php?productid=26607 Steve
  4. I buy mine in Halfords. Steve
  5. Most likely a chaffed wire. And again most likely where the cable goes from door to body. Steve
  6. Unless of course your findings produce a significant price reduction. Steve
  7. Seem to remember I whacked the shaft on the edge of my bench with a strategically placed bucket below. If you are really stuck I see no reason why you can't drill a 1/16" hole through from the other side and drive it out with a punch (nail). Steve
  8. I think you need to look again at your link. Downtown Stanley. I can see your house from here. Steve
  9. If it's any help I have sensors on two different cars which are both set to 1mm gap. VR sensor for Megasquirt and a speedo sensor on my sports car. Steve
  10. Made me LOL. Nice thought but I doubt they deliver quite that far. Steve
  11. Have a search in the MegaSquirt thread. They are in there somewhere. Steve
  12. As has been said older vehicles have been through the DVLA process prior to SVA but I'm guessing the identity they came away with was based on the known identity of the chassis. In this case the vehicle would appear to be registered against the body which is completely wrong. If you present to DVLA and they find that the chassis is stolen you will be in for some grief. Steve
  13. Loctite 572 will do the job nicely. Steve
  14. Steve If as you say the mode is oil drawn into the breather then modified covers with breathers grafted into the inboard top edge of both covers and joined by a tee piece would take the angle further and probably beyond the point the vehicle itself will roll. I agree the valve guides are not the culprit. Steve
  15. A pseudo modular for a 4x4 generally has different offset to a standard rim and can be bought in a greater variety of rim widths and offsets than a OEM rim. A real Modular or split rim offers an even larger variety of sizes and can be custom built by yourself. Also if you dented a rim edge you can replace just that inner or outer rim without the cost of scrapping a whole wheel. Steve
  16. It would look odd with a Q plate so you should try and keep the chassis un-altered. Cycle wings are an issue with IVA and cause a lot of problems trying to deal with the sharp edges around the suspension. The solution would be to go for wings and running boards. The running boards would cover and use the outriggers. Anything in the wheelarch is then exempt from IVA sharp edge inspection. For the outside handbrake lever the IVA manual says you must be able to operate it from the driving seat with one hand still on the steering wheel so that should be OK. Loads of other bits about adequate strength and not releasing if you give it a thump etc. but a 30's style lever will be brick ****house like anyway. If it had front and rear bumpers on it for IVA then most of the sharp bits underneath will be exempt below that bumper line. Sounds like fun. Steve
  17. I thought the exam was only the first stage. You then had to be a member of one or other of two organizations in order to do the sign-off and it was that bit that cost an arm and leg. Steve
  18. FF or HFH will point you at a lead source. LEDs reading from DB9 Injection.....flashes each time injectors fire WUE...shows when Warm Up Enrichment is on AE...Acceleration Enrichment. Comes on when you mash the go pedal. Steve
  19. Point taken. A 16 amp fused spur then. Steve
  20. They are a clear side light i.e. only the one contact. Steve
  21. Close, White/Grey. Steve
  22. Everything starts with a budget. So how much? Steve
  23. The 16A plug on the welder goes into a 16A round pin socket. How you wire it depends on what rating your supply is in the garage. If it is fused at 30 or 32A you could spur off of that for the welder socket as it is unlikely you are running another 16 odd amps in the garage whilst busy welding. A ring main should be fused at 30-32A so you could spur off that. The usual caveats apply........it is against the law to do this work yourself. Steve
  24. A number of LR models have different springs side to side at the front. Steve
