  1. Yes, it is blood Yes, it is a Ninety with a 200 Tdi Yes, converting this to LHD will be fun No, it is the real 200 Tdi engine for a Defender...
  2. " Fair enough, didn't know that " This is why people like us make a living out of anything Customs related and international (rail) transport. It is not always as easy as it seems... The Mpi is not that easy to buy - let alone converting one like you described.
  3. Changing fuel types etc. on Italian / French / Spanish / etc. registered vehicles is not so easy. In France you will find it almost not possible.
  4. Done. Have a look at the other post... Wasn't that a party....
  5. There are quite a few "projects" in Canada for sale. Get into the the clubs and ask around. And in France, several 90 / 110 / 130 's are for sale. Please be aware that buying the vehicle is the easy part - shipping and getting it on Canadian plates is the hard part... I have a Ninety here - just received a new startermotor - that would be ideal for export to Canada. Some €€€ - well within your budget - will help the Mrs. understand that less Land Rovers is better and it is an honest vehicle. But, and that is a big but, the VIN says it is a 2.5 N/A while at the moment it is a 200 Tdi... In the US a problem. Canada ? Make sure you know what you're buying, get all paperwork before parting with money and please, please understand that what the logbook says does not mean it makes it possible to get plates at your side...
  6. As mentioned before, the starter motor on the 200 Tdi died and I was not looking forward to replacing it after all the good news on it I read. Somewhere under there there is a starter motor Eventually, it came out All in all, the job wasn't too bad. But one has to remove a lot of hoses, tubes etc.. However, I have to say that it really made clear I need to plan for some serious work in the engine bay to stop oil leaks, tidy the lot and.... convert it to LHD. The Mrs. decided the Ninety is to stay. A bit shocked, I asked "are you sure" and she said she is. Once a few things have been seen to... Oh dear...
  7. Make sure this is the sort of cage you want for a 90. We're about to get the 110 caged - full external - as they take up a lott of space inside. In a 90, the B hoop takes a lot os space. Also, if you want to fit a Rear Bulkhead Removal Bar, you have to consider what you want. Bon Courage
  8. Welcome - some more pics would be nice..
  9. Good to see a Series doing serious miles - Bon Courage !!
  10. Sounds like an earth problem. I had once the stop cable on a Series III act like an earth cable and it created a fire we found not easy to put out... Perfect earth cables are well worth their money. Glad you could put the fire out in time.
  11. Sounds like a route to take as a last resort.... I worry about undoing the downpipe - let alone the manifolds ! Whoever "designed" this should be made to change a few thousand of them on older vehicles - that should teach him !!
  12. As this forum a fountain of knowledge, hopefully somebody can tell me there is a different way... Starter motor on the RHD, 200 Tdi Ninety has died. Looking in the engine bay, I can't help feeling it is not going to be fun... Any suggestions on how to do this without taking the downpipe off ?
  13. Thanks - really annoyed with the #$^%#$ pumps...
  14. No proshafts - so I'll make a bracket to stop the thing from turning. I'll put some pics up when done.
  15. Actually, progress is made - see new post in int. secrion - and the Hybrid has now a nice new turbo pipe, so that is done. Clients, oh well, need a lot of time and they do pays the bills... Oil cooler hoses have been made - thanks Drew - so the oil is now also set. Awaiting arrival of a few rubber hosed to make up the water ways and we're getting there. The spill rail leaks so a new one is en route from the UK. Once the engine has been found watertight, and hopefully oil proof, it is time for the easy part : electrics. I have made a CT appointment...
  16. When coming back from the Alps last year, the 110 (300 Tdi) seemed to have lost a few ponies.. Eventually, it died en route and suffered the Recovery truck and another 200 miles on our own trailer behind the Ninety.. Replaced the fuel filters, blew the fuel lines and replaced the fuel lift pump. Everything seemed to working again and the 110 went back to work. 2,000 kms - or about 1,250 miles in your money - it started having trouble working under load. Would not die, but loose power. Replaced, filters, blew the fuel lines and replaced the fuel lift pump. No real improvement but the thing had to work so off it went and did, apart from another Holland trip with a big trailer, 2 Alps trips and a Spain recovery bash.. So, getting fed up with the lack of power, I again replaced the filters and found no difference. Replaced the fuel lift pump and all was well. Did a 430 mile test drive today and it drove very, very nice. Morale of the story : don't trust any part these days, just because they are new, branded or in a box from a well known brand, to be good. Deep Sigh....
  17. Impressive !!!! Well Done - have fun & please keep it coming..
  18. Feel free to do whatever you feel comfortable with.. But we will not take clients with us without a proper spare wheel.
  19. I have no idea really - I always make my own looms and they differ a bit from the LR ones.. But keeping it apart from the original loom sounds like a plan - unless you can use the correct colour coded wiries etc. Bon Courage !
  20. Sounds like the thing is generating a flood of errors, overflowing the mem bank. Without seeing and talking to the computers, it is going to be difficult. Bon Courage !!
