Allisport and Allard both offer what you want.

Come on porny!whats your price?

Apologies for the delay in replying.... currently away in Italy - but an update:

All of the prototypes have been a success, the only delay has been in the casting of the exhaust side of the housing. The final tooling has been sent off and the virgin cast should be back and done in 6 -8 weeks due to work load. Then it is just a bit of machining, and the final build.

As mentioned previously, the turbo fits in exactly the same manor as the standard version - and all of the air intake pipework and the exhaust stays standard... unlike using the TGV version.

Price wise.... it should come in around the £850 + vat (exchange) but this is not 100% confirmed. I will have a prototype at Billing if people want to have a look... and place pre orders.

Does that now include the 200 tdi defender version? I have a custom exhaust and whilst its not impossible, it'd be a bit of a pain to change the downpipe. I think you mentioned earlier that you'd need a new downpipe for this version?

In fact from the IRB Developments FaceBook page.....

"IRB Developments

Bolt on Variable Geometry Turbo Converisons avaliable.... Td5 and now 300Tdi Defender and Discovery in stock.

They allow you to run a standard exhaust down pipe, standard intercooler pipework etc etc.

Removes turbo lag and gives much better performance from idle throughout the rev range.

Specially designed, not a turbo from another vehicle bodged to fit!

We do a bolt on VNT conversion for the 300tdi here http://bellautoservices.co.uk/products/vnt...vgt-turbo/ Our 200TDI conversion will be available very soon.

The VNT we sell is made especially for the 300TDI and is cast specifically to fit directly as a replacement unit which gives masses of power more over the standard turbo. The turbo is nearly double the size of the factory unit.

Here are a couple of pictures below showing the standard turbo and our VNT hybrid, you can clearly see the size difference in the two units. It also shows that the fitment is as factory standard of which can be done by any novice mechanic with no extra components needed like special manifolds or expencive pipe work needed.

I think it is, but I'm puzzled by the comment that it needs no special manifolds but then looks like it has a different manifold (or at least the wastegate for the VNT turbo looks to be mounted on the manifold on the photo above - or is that an illusion?)

The inlet manifold is standard.

The exhaust manifold splits into three pieces. The VVT comes with the centre section, you would need to disassemble your standard manifold and use the parts that go to cylinders 1 and 4. how easy this would be is another question. The wastegate is mounted on the turbo/manifold if you look at the pics from BAS

looks like the turbo off the 2.8 tgv engine to me.

Vnt's dont have waste gates.

looks nothing like a tgv turbo to me

vnt's dont have wastegates but they do use actuators to control the movement of the vanes...........

Blimey, is this thread still rumbling on

Yep and still with no answers from IRB. I even pointed one of them to this thread on another forum the other day since so many people had unanswered questions. Its a wonder they sell any/anything quite frankly given that their ability to communicate is poor to say the least!

right......we are aware of this thread, and its not long now before we have answers. You can find out more on our FB page Irb Developments. To be honest, when i post on here it takes 5 days for it to show for some reason....Ada
