  1. Might be worth a good will claim? Presumably that is a production date stamped into the body of the shock?
  2. Think it was on some 2a models but my memory is sepia tinted at best
  3. If they don't have them in stock, Brown and Gammon are showing 12 and Moss europe are showing 50 in stock. Just out of curiosity is that a YRM repair section for the diagonal element of the "C" pillar?
  4. In the past I have done a quick bleed to get some sort of pedal, then press the pedal to the floor, wedge it down with a piece of wood or similar. Release the pressure at the slave cylinder and leave it overnight. Come back next morning, perfect pedal. Does it even faster if the front of the truck is jacked up, don't know why. Now I use a vacuum bleeder. But other than that, anything which obviates the necessity of crawling under a Land Rover has to be a good idea.
  5. Best place to ask would be at a Land Rover dealership
  6. How much of a hurry are you in? If no great rush I have a pair of stub axles and hubs with all bearings/seals etc fitted and they are just taking up space in the garage. They came from a Military remanufactured axle. The only reason I took them off was because my back axle runs discs rather than drums
  7. Found some for sale http://picclick.co.uk/Landrover-110-to-1986-RH-Inner-Door-401261128589.html http://shop.glad.dk/shop/land-rover-haandtag-10223p.html might also be worth trying places like John Richards surplus
  8. Of course you could always use a set of stilsons on the existing plug, presuming you can get a set in there. Yes I know it is a bit of a gorilla solution but it might save you having to weld a nut on the plug.
  9. Or something like this But you would probably need to replace all the windows b
  10. A quick scan on www.thepart.com shows that several places have them in stock ranging in price from £1.25 to £2
  11. I am thinking of fitting a siren to mine, on the inside. So loud that it will at least disorientate the person attempting to steal the vehicle and very probably cause permanent deafness. Yes I know its illegal, but you know what? I don't care. If people choose to break the law, why should they expect that same law to protect them from the consequences of their actions?
  12. apologies for the misleading link. My vehicle has no bracket for the hand brake cable, never has had one. It has a small plastic clip on the back of the T box
  13. In the final analysis, nothing works. A friend had his 90 pinched. It was fitted with a battery master switch which was inside a locked box, the front axle was chained to a concrete post and the steering wheel had been removed. Parked under a streetlight, as close to his bedroom window as possible and it still went. Neighbour had a boat pinched off his drive, the trailer had a wheel clamp fitted and there was a post set in the driveway which went through the A frame of the trailer drawbar. He slept through all of it. Story in the Torygraph about a high spec Audi being pinched while the owner literally went to buy a packet of fags. Had tracker, perimeter alarms and it was broad daylight. Disappeared off the face of the earth for 36 hours then tracker pinged it as being in Southern Spain
  14. managed to find a part number but whenever I try to look up the relevant part it comes up as not recognised ANR3625 described as @bracket harness transfer box. But that was for the LT230/LT77S combination. Further investigation found this. http://www.brit-car.co.uk/search.php?query=igu000030&xBrand=&part_type=&xSupplierID=&product-sort=&xPerPage=10
  15. Shan't be kissing you in the foreseeable future!
  16. Thing is whilst he has obscured the registration number on the truck you can still read it on the trailer. BVG 855C The question is how does one report such a vehicle to DVLA? Having jumped through all the hoops when I put a new chassis under an airportable it upsets me when people do stuff like this with no intention of following any of the regulations at all.
  17. Yes it is, from a dealer. There should have been a small silver tag with the keys which the dealer can use to identify the specific key you need
  18. Don't know a definitive answer but given that there are no non return valves anywhere else on the system it would be a reasonable assumption. They were/are manufactured by Lucas, Maybe your local Lucas distributor could tell you?
  19. Trouble is there are handy little videos on youtube showing you how easy it is to pop one of the rear quarter windows out of its rubber, reach in and unlock the back door. Presumably if it is possible to do that to one of the quarter windows, it is possible to do the same thing with the later style main window in the back door and climb in that way
  20. On mine, when I had a 300tdi and left the socket on the end of the crank, fortunately it was a ratchet so didn't spin the entire assembly until it hit something solid but I wondered what the new noise was. Or when I had a Laverda Jota and fired that up, the blast from the exhaust sent the dustbin flying, from inside a helmet it sounded like the bottom of the engine had just fallen out.
  21. They don't, unless you can work out a way of removing the clip that holds them together in such a way that it is possible to use it again
  22. Interesting that the 110 Defender icon heritage is fitted with wheels that are not rated for a 110 despite their boast of having "30 years of real off road experience" Somebody who lives near a friend of mine, had a Khan 90. Until it was stolen. The police recovered it 3 hours later, well some of it. Basically all the fancy bodywork, wheels and engine had been stripped from it and the remainder dumped in a field. Then there are things like this. http://twistedautomotive.com/current-stock/view/twisted-t80-90-station-wagon/ Or, in a similar vein to the original post, vehicles(?) like this 2a. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Series-2a-Td5-Automatic-with-Trailer-and-Generator-/192089074920?hash=item2cb966ace8:g:-cYAAOSwEzxYQALs
  23. Typically wheel bearings show up as noisy when they are most heavily loaded. Thus if it is your nearside front it would show up as noisiest when turning hard right and the greatest load is on the front left hand corner of the vehicle. Going round a roundabout would be the perfect place to see if this is the case. Something which starts to show up at 50mph would suggest that something is out of balance. Just a thought, but try topping up your swivel housings with oil and see if that makes a difference
  24. Given that the original 130 chassis were made by cutting a 110 chassis and inserting a 17" extension. The rear x member is the same. Those advertised on flea bay are for either 90 or 110/130
