  1. Hi and welcome to the forum It sounds to me like the flexplate cracking up cheers Steveb
  2. Is it only when moving or all the time the engine is running ? ..if it's when the engine is running it could be the dualmass flywheel or an internal bit of loose exhaust - waggle the exhaust around with the engine off If its only when moving it could be prop related check for free play with wheels firmly chocked on level ground and out of gear with handbrake off cheers Steveb
  3. Morning Dan We have an Esprit cnc HD plasma cutter at work with a Hypertherm 260a and a bed size of 8m x2.5m , if you wanted stuff cut I'm sure we could fit it in , we cut from 1.0mm to 30mm thick in steel and stainless or aluminium , the Procut software and solidworks make programming pretty straightforward too As for smaller diy/small shop systems the Torchmate does seem to be best and easiest to run . Do you need cnc ? or would a pantograph style copier table work ? cheers Steveb
  4. tackweld the nuts on the door side of the hinge and drill the torx / cross head drive out of the bulkhead hinge fixing... Yes the bulk head screws could be drilled out , but much more effort than just winding the screws out with a battery gun cheers Steveb
  5. That sounds very likely specially if there is any oil on the HB shoes , as it drags then releases then drags again it sounds terminally terrible cheers Steveb
  6. Take the floor and gearbox tunnel out so you can see the linkage move and you will see the bit I mean , if it's just stuck to the fly wheel it should come free with use as described above , its highly unlikely you will break anything doing that cheers Steveb
  7. It's a S1? so mechanical clutch...it's usually the tube that joins the cross-shaftout of the chassis to the clutch release arm shaft on the 'box , the tube breaks out where the clevis pins are ..thats assuming it won't disengage to go in gear cheers Steveb
  8. Yep I'd look there first, then Aframe arms to chassis bushes , then trailng arm to axle bushs/bolts If none of those then drain the oil and look for planet gear teeth , also worn splines in the drive members/outer halfshaft ends can give a clunk on-off-on throttle good luck and happy trails- loved the pics you posted the other day cheers Steveb
  9. This is done by many caravan owners I've heard , and for the time it takes it may well be worth it ? I hope the OP's friend is treated well by their insurers, all this thieving is sickening cheers Steveb
  10. Maybe , but whatever, some of the threads have been very interesting and diverse, with some great tech to day dream about .... nothing wrong with a bit of speculation ..what are you thinking about today OT? cheers Steveb
  11. ... bit small Russia , Ladoga service area 2006 I think . Not my pic , but downloaded from a link in a thread on here iirc cheers Steveb
  12. Blimey I bet that is max'd out on GVW loaded ...and what sort of turning circle ? ...and a drive thru axle looks lovely but not my choice of overlander cheers Steveb
  13. Snap- on mate , job's a good'un , I haven't plugged an air rattlegun in since I bought my Snap-on guns ....well apart from the 1" for Big stuff cheers Steveb
  14. A quick google brought up kewtube.com , a CNC pipe subcontractor , not so far from you , maybe get that one copied in bigger bore then send it back? It does seem a bit small on bore size and those bends are pretty badly crushed, almost like the wrong die was used? cheers Steveb
  15. Is that a viscous diff/chaindrive transfer box? ...2 broken diffs are often the first sign that the VC has locked up just thought it was worth a mention cheers Steveb
  16. Worth a phone call to your local Indespension dealer to check I'd say , do the 500kg units have brakes? 2x 500kg = braked. If not and the rating is per pair then the 350 kg should be fine , tbh just putting new low load units on will probably make a big difference as the rubber does get hard over time cheers Steveb
  17. If you have 3 phase then , yeah thats the way to go , the only thing I'd add to the above is try and get one with a seperate wire feed on a decent length of wander lead bundle , then you can leave the transformer and bottle in the corner of the workshop and move the wire feed around to suit cheers Steveb
  18. Candlewax rubbed on and then heated to meltpoint does the same , it just shows the annealing point , and as stated a dent has stretched the matl so careful hammer work with a heavier dolly behind will get it back in shape cheers Steveb
  19. I reckon thats worth a punt , the built in ones are pretty low budget and a euro adapter does give you a shot at a Binzel , there are occasional offers on Binzel so its worth keeping an eye open cheers Steveb
  20. Its not just the earth lead that can suck the amps up , the torch lead can get worn out with all the twists and tight turns you always end up with working a welder I changed my Snap-on 180a welder eurotorch lead for a Binzel 4m unit and was amazed at how much I had been losing through the old lead , and it's running off a 13a plug . The old torch lead was probably more than 15yrs old and the Binzel is off my 3 phase Butters cheers Steveb
  21. if its electric you can locate it where you like/it fits best? I'm guessing the extra bits would be the steel core pin and the electromagnetic coil packs cheers Steveb
  22. ...it could be a faulty new pump, it does happen. With it ticking over crack the bleed screw on top of the filter , a good healthy squirt shows the fuel pump/lines etc are ok If that checks out , maybe check the air intake/filter etc , hoses can delaminate inside. cheers Steveb
  23. Find your local Hydraulics specialist and take it along , it may convert , after all both types only move the spool itself... At that sort of flow you need 1/2" high pressure lines , those ports on that valve don't look that big, but it may just be the photo perspective cheers Steveb
  24. You'd lose some carrying capacity too with a 130, some tools and a few drums of oil etc will soon put you up to 3.5t. a good purpose converted Sankey may well be a better solution cheers Steveb
