  1. much faster under load the wheel speed to winch line speed (single line) was matched on 3.5 diffs & 35" simex, have now gone to the air freespool which im planning on upping the gear ratio again in the near future so might have a set of plus 40's available, have only done 2 events
  2. i had standard gearing in mine & i am running xp motors aswell, have gone to +40s when i still had my standard bottom housing & it transformed the winch, soo much faster
  3. ref whitbread offroad doing quick release mounts, the prototypes arrived yesterday from the laser cutters & are currently WIP, as soon as they have mounts available to suit a 90 i will post up

  5. on my standard 8274 i can get 125ft of 12mm, which fills it right up to the top of the drum, iirc simon buck uses 150ft of 11mm on his front winch

  9. i normally use a blunt electrical screwdriver & lots n lots of washing up liquid makes it easyer to force it in the hole
  10. if you speak to JE engineering they will supply you with the studs you requires along with the washers which allow slight movement on the manifold

  12. I've been using yorkshire van breakers on ebay for bits for my pug boxer n they have been spot on, there phone no is on there ebay auctions, normally phone n check what they have instock n order

  14. i would also check the valve clearances as i had that on a disco 200 tdi & the covers that the rockers run on had worn away & increased the size o the clearance
  15. I used a turbo n inlet manifold from a disco in my 90 when I converted it ti an auto using a disco 200tdi n auto box
  16. Put the disco engine in place on the defender engine ounts n use a 300 tdi turbo n inlet manifold assembly as it fits a lot easier n the pipework is much neater n more straightforwad
  17. ive run 125ft or 11mm plasma & 12mm dyneema, ropes always washed after an event & hung out to dry & kept in the house, so far the dyneema has lasted better than the plasma, i currently get approx 1 year of use from a rope before it goes in the bin but normally get 3/4 events on the front & 2/3 events on the rear
  18. 300 pumps are a straight fit on 200's as I've had one on my 200tdi for last year or so
