  1. Santa should definitely bring you one Simon, it would mean he'd never have to bring you anything again ..... except the photopolymer
  2. Google it lazy boy! It's a Polyjet, a curable liquid photopolymer obviously! http://www.stratasys.com/3d-printers/technologies/polyjet-technology Edit: Starting price is $19,900 .... so probably slightly out of the home market.
  3. I think the obvious difference is whether you are dong this for business or pleasure, and if it's for pleasure it simply comes down to whether you have more time or money
  4. .... and you've not discovered a way to correct that?
  5. I did the front calipers on my 110 the other day and it is pretty simple and quick provided you aren't into painting them. Even getting the retaining rings in was easy using a tip I read on here somewhere, I just used a piece of flat steel plate and a G clamp. After all I'd read I thought they would be a nightmare but they were quite a relaxing job
  6. I was scared off the fancy batteries as there is a possibility of overcharging on long journeys with the basic charging system on Land Rovers. So I just went with an Exide heavy duty that had pretty much the same specs as Land Rovers own heavy duty
  7. There's a thread on here about them. It's a full discussion iirc.I'm on my mobile at the moment or I'd find it for you.
  8. Not answering any of your questions sir, just an observation. I believe the flowmeter needs to be vertical to work accurately.
  9. If it had a sender or a cable driven speedo in the past then the Defender sender will fit.
  10. Yep, I take it that it's a repair that someone has made, but it's an impressive one.
  11. Virtually every 4x6 machine needs a lot of fettling to get it to work properly, think of it more as a kit. There is a really good 4x6 bandsaw group on yahoo groups IIRC, they are nice machines once you have rebuilt them I have an Axminster swivelling one and it works alright now.
  12. This picture from the facebook page on the renovation of the vehicle intrigued me .....
  13. If you make your own bandsaw blades (or break ones you've just bought ) then you can cut your own hacksaw blades, you just have to punch two holes with a Witney Punch.
  14. There's at least a couple of owners one here http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=19310
  15. I want to see Mr Postman get the box of 1000 magnets out of his van .....
  16. Looks good, congrats on getting it sorted
  17. When you had them in both filler and drain do you remember how much collected on each? ie was there twice as much on the drain?
  18. How about one for the fuel tank to keep all the loose rust in one place?
  19. Fairly certain Nige posted about getting a set of these a few years back, anyway got an email today saying they're on offer so thought I'd share it here. If you've never bought from Rutlands before they are the sort of company you only buy from when things are on offer .... and there is always something on offer. Anyway they're a shade under £30 for imperial and metric http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp+woodworking-whats-hot-new-arrivals-whats-new-in-woodworking-thread-checker-combo-set-metric-imperial+dk7026
  20. The non magnetic stuff floating around is less likely to damage the engine in the same way that lumps of steel are .....
  21. The odometer is lit by two surface mount LED's soldered directly to the PCB inside the speedo, I doubt anything is wrong with those. It's hard to tell from the photo but it looks like you aren't getting any light from those LED's so I'd say you have a wiring issue. EDIT: I'd check Pin 10 of connector A is getting +12v when ignition is turned on
  22. Precisely what I was going to say, I'd take it as read that any undesireable can get your address from your reg thanks to the DVLA's practice of selling access to their database. I bet nobody does a check to see how many vehicles that get stolen were previously looked up on the DVLA database.
  23. I'd say it's when you are trying to limit the heat put into the work.
