  1. Congrats Simon The lock looks interesting, any reason for the choice of a combi lock?
  2. Links are back on this post http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=55983&p=766606 If you click on them it should let you request access.
  3. Doesn't bother them for their drag races .... Perhaps that's why it's been built?
  4. Creating a Virtual Machine is as easy as installing windows on a pc, it's pretty simple.
  5. That pretty much sums it up really, that and the quote 'In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king'
  6. The poor google translation of the description is Does the 'display only' bit mean it's not drivable? The carp cable tied to the steering wheel would suggest the same.
  7. The thread you want is http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=69070 I've replied to your message Chris
  8. They are really helpful at the tips around here to Mickey, however going to any of the big shops down the Purley way is a nightmare. Why do large retail stores not want big vehicles in their open air car parks? Strikes me as a bit backward, especially ones that sell large electrical appliances :-/ Having the roll cage fitted does make it tempting at times to test how strong the height barriers really are ....
  9. Rofl, I think he'd consider himself told at that point
  10. I doubt you've fried the speedo Chris, a quick check would be to nick Si's out of his 110 (or more safely stick yours in his 110)
  11. Interestingly Judge Judy is actually just arbitration. Rumour has it that the TV company regularly pay the sums she awards. Slightly off topic there but the Mrs is a bit of a Judge Judy addict :-/
  12. Good to see there has been a fair bit of thought over the weld v bolt construction methods. I am quite surprised to hear you don't have a pillar drill though Mav
  13. My primary goal at the moment is to retrieve the data from the ST10F276E Microcontroller/dsp that is responsible for running the show http://www.st.com/web/en/resource/technical/document/datasheet/CD00105094.pdf or in other words the big square chip in the picture. Keep in mind that I have an ECU, the corresponding 10AS unit and a key fob. These are all supposedly a matched set. I don't have a Puma or a Transit so blowing up engines is unlikely . Perhaps this can turn into an exercise in writing down the rules?
  14. Most of his stuff that I have read is on the 'TDFive Technic' page on facebook.
  15. He seems quite busy with his TD5 mapping research at the moment. Lets see what we find when I get the chip off in a couple of weeks.
  16. Which balls are the ones that have been breaking?
  17. Not having a dig at your welding Mav but have you noticed how nearly all presses are bolted together?
  18. There you go http://foundry4x4.co.uk/pdf/X%20Eng%20at%20Foundry%204x4%20Pedal%20Lock%20Instructions.pdf
  19. So in a misguided moment sometime last year I bought a puma ECU. I bought it for no other reason than to take it apart to have a play and like many other projects it's been awaiting me extracting the digit. I've had a look at the thread on defender2 where BAS extracted the data from the processor and had a play back in 2007 and I thought we could do similar here but with no business links we could just publish whatever we discover. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5632.html To put things into context, I don't own a Puma and won't be able to afford one for many years so my only motivation is to gain knowledge. Obviously sweet FA will happen till I'm able to extract the data so there is something to stare at, however it is likely that within the next month I will have access to a reader for the main chip and I should then be able to remove the chip and obtain a full data dump. Why am I posting this here? I don't know, I have no real idea what data is contained in this ECU. What does it store? Anyone actually played with one using any of the Land Rover diagnostic tools? What can you do and what are you 'not allowed' to do? What would be nice to find out? Anyway, enough rambling.
  20. Cheers for the info Mike. Do you have any idea what the total weight of the Ibex will be when finished? Looks like it will be fairly light.
  21. I know you know exactly what you are doing Mike, I'm just curious how thick the fibreglass needs to be to bolt a seat rail to? Cheers
