  1. Hmm... Yes, if they want it they'll take it. We have taken some action but like to keep that a suprise. Some are not legal in Europe but very effective. Very..
  2. Think your best bet it to hang the engine & transmission in the chassis with the correct propshafts if you're moving all that metal around. We used a different - but not easy to find - powersteering box and that doesn't require all that metal moving..
  3. Change of fuel type in entertaining here... I have a Series that has an extremely CoC and the fuel type was changed and accepted here but I did need some words for that.. But apart from that, it very much depends on your CT man. We have no problems - all our LR's are not standard.. Taking the vehicle (back) to the UK in a few years could be interesting if they have decided by then to part ways with the EU.
  4. Don't think the CH are very fond of home build projects... I keep hearing very nasty things about chassis welding etc.. FR is quite open, really. Have a look at the campers make here to get the idea... .... bit the money.
  5. What plate (UK / FR / CH / etc.) will it be on ?
  6. One can always ask..... ... and su..er is born every minute I've been told
  7. The logbook should give you an idea - but it very much depends on the VIN Plate, your licence, etc.
  8. No pics as my wiring is not standard. There is a "loom" between the stalk and the motor + feed that directly connect to motor and stalk. Depending on the version, you'll have 2 speed + intermittent and/or single wipe
  9. http://83.81.85.72/schema.html In Dutch I'm afraid. 12 or 24 volts ? More info : http://www.serieblog.org/category/lesen/lightweight/
  10. Well Done ! Keep UK economy going and importing as simple as possible for they may leave the Continent....
  11. Tricky question without seiing the vehicle as Series get "improved" a lot... No clicks as the glowplugs go directly over the ignition key. You have loads of options, assuming it is a Series III : - Fuses are located under the steering column (glass type ones) - Is there any volts on the resistor on the bulkhead - Are the glowplugs original, these are wired in Series (1 dead means other 3 stop working) - etc. Good hunting
  12. Well Done ! Can't have too many Series.... Pics ?
  13. Living in France for a long time now we've had oour fun with the various sellers and suppliers. We've been using Causeway4x4 for the last few years and they've been very good. No flashy sites, just tell them what you need and they'll tell you. Shipping can be done how you want. Transport goes wrong sometimes and that is when you learn the good and the less good ones. You don't need worries about the seller on top of that.. I go over every year a few times and combine those trip with stocking up. Also, long suffering friends in Emsworth are the Arjan 's Post Office and warehouse for me and that works very well. In fact, 1 item we got was cheaper to go over, get it ouselves than buying it here around the corner... Good luck.
  14. This is the one that started Range Rovers for us : LPG and eventually a 3.9 on carbs with the original 4 speed and an Overdrive. It came with a Capstan winch that we eventually replaced with a WARN8274 - using the genuine LR kit. Still have that sitting here, 21 years later... Sold it eventually and when it drove away I knew I'd made a serious mistake.. Had 7 other, 4-door ones, and swapped the Mazda engine over each time when the body was dissolved too much... Love to do one again as the "last project" as I'm getting Vintage..
  15. Although I have a "smallish" electric pump in the back (110 HT) I like the idea of using the airco pump space in the engine to fit a "belt driven" one. I tried to find more on this with the search but not much came up : any suggestions where to look please ?
  16. Very, very nice ! I've been offered a 2-door as a project... Don't know - a lot of work and even more money but I do love 2 doors.... Perhaps I could sell the Mrs...
  17. Yes - weird.. La Salle did make something but not sure they still do. As with many more Series bits, it is getting more and difficult / expensive to find them. Glad I have a well stocked spares shed..
  18. AFAIK only 1 natural person or an legal entity can be named on a logbook.
  19. Sounds like lock up isn't working as it should. The thing is ECU controlled so have it talk to another computer to see what they have to say. Will cost you but you might be able to make a deal on the price if the box needs to be replaced... Make sure all connectors are clean and doing their job.
  20. We don't go there much. Busy enough here. And, but that is just me talking and I'm biased of course , the Auvergne region offers loads and loads of good Lanes..
  21. You did not really look very hard, did you ...... www.battlefieldsby4x4.com/
  22. Could be a leak in the pressurised air circuit (turbo to inlet manifold) A (smallish) leak can cause all kind of problems, esp. for the sensors that get weird readings and put the engine in "get home mode"
  23. Yes - bearing at the rear on their way out by the sound of it... For this very reason, mine is planned for replacement late this year for a recon one from Synchro Gearboxes.
