Cynic-al
The cheap one I had was a strike start, so you had to tap it on the metal to get it to start cutting but pull it away so it didn't stick and melt. I guess getting the machine to do that is a software issue?
TobyMellin
I tried 3 stores (2 in Manchester, 1 in Conwy), none of them had any. Just seen one for sale on eBay for £

I would have one, but not practical as I am in Kent. FFS
bushwhacker
No problem I thought the logistics would prove awkward. They are actually advertised at £99:

bushwhacker
Hi it was in the Lurgan store and they still had a few Thursday just passed. It is the 40 amp they had and it may not run on household electrics but I am not sure if I have got this correct, please check this out. Regards Mark. Mossberg
Are the lidl Plasma cutters any good - will the cut 6mm mild steel. I need to mitre a load of 6mm thick angle iron and this would be ideal if they work.

I used mine for a bit and ran out of consumables and can confess to not remembering to order more. I did use it to cut a rotten front outrigger from a 110 which it did a good job of
rusty_wingnut
Mine is still running very well - no complaints
Stellaghost
Unfortunately I cannot get away with mine, a waste of money for me anyway, going back to using my old Jasic Regards Stephen
Mossberg
I have used mine (with the built-in compressor) for my bulkhead outriggers, dumb iirons and rear crossmember. It's good on those places you can't get to with a grinder, but on some of those parts thick rust can make arcing up problematic and getting through the tips quicker. You will still need a grinder (or I did) to clean up rust, trim back some bits and remove rust. I would say I used the grinder more than the plasma but plasma did make some difficult parts far easier.
