300bhp/ton
Ok then if you had to single out one or two Land Rover models as your all time favs what would they be? Mine would have to be the 101FC, I love the look of them and their hertigate if not the fuel economy. And the 90 will hold a special place also mostly for it's simplicity and off road ability. Les Henson
Fortunately I get to drive a lot of Land Rovers, so it's very difficult to single one out. Each has it's own merits. My own choice in preferential order:- The original catflap - a 1976 S3 109" inch ugly monster, which is how I got into L/R in the first place 1951 ex-War Dept 80" spread-bore S1 belonging to Sue Cummings. At the L2B run a couple of years ago now it wa stripped right down - no doors, no roof, screen down, the weather was great, and her vehicle is almost mint. It was excellent S3 Ltwt - also belonging to Sue Cummings - always is/was a head turner, and in original military spec. I drove it for a year or so, and apart from idiots running into it (3-times), it's beautiful example of a ltwt. I drove a 50th anniversary 90 once - a jet propelled brick, but the ultimate in L/R luxury. Dr Goons 300TDi 110CSW - a giant red brick that has very impressive accelleration. Mark Jenkins 90 - his philosophy is chuck money at it whenever necessary - one less clank/squeak/rumble is closer to the finish line. catflap 2 - I've grossly over-spent what he's actually worth, but he might well turn out to be the best yet - because he will be such an individual vehicle. JSG
Series I because it is just 'so right' Defender because it does everything and is the dog's dangly bits.
Bull Bar Cowboy
Probably the SJ Pick Up :P Now what was it that Jez was mumbling about ............. oh yeah .......... Wears a skirt AND drives a suzi ............ Ian
Corrode Finger
To be fair, and avoid 'orange' jokes........ its a Classic Rangey for me. If i had to single that down, it would be the CSK! I feel its got the original look with the later luxury that made the RR the offroad exec express.
bill van snorkle
IMO the most aesthetically pleasing model is the series 1 LWB pickup with canvas rear tilt. From a mechanical and all round offroad ability viewpoint my pick would be the early 4speed 110's. For structural integrity, series 2a models. RangeRovers and Disco's have their good points but the bodystyling and vulnerable exterior furnishings doesn't suit my lack of offroad driving skill re vehicle placement and damage avoidance. Bill. 300bhp/ton
If i had to single that down, it would be the CSK! Yeah I think my borther would agree here, I know he'd love to trade his Vogue RRC for a CSK model
Steve Hiatt
LWB series 1 for looks, even though horrid to drive. 300TDi 90. Late classic, softdash with springs, which is the current family car
Top90
300 TDi 90 staton wagon. In my opinion the best off road / on road combo with a simple to fix design that you can still use everyday. (for people without too many kids)
doddel
109 SII SW with safari roof

bill van snorkle
My least favorite model from a purely aesthetic viewpoint is a shiny green series 2 SWB truckcab with canvas rear tilt on 6.00x16 tyres with the 6 inch deep sill panels which Rover called modesty panels. Yuck ! What were they thinking. Bill.
Gromit
only ever driven my 110, but I'd like an 88 or 90 soft-top for summer fun, and something a bit smaller than the 110. Can't beat a 110 though for general all round (ab)use.
Shackleton
The first Range Rover, it's the comfy forward control, apart from the forward control bit. And the power to weight ratio. And the big winch. And err the load area. Anyway it's uber sweet and I want one, wait I have one but I want a new engine...

madmatt
Favourite model the DEFENDER, its just a flippin good workhorse, and looks brilliant loaded for work, not tha I'm biased or owt!
Simon Smith
Definately the 107 station wagon, but for practicality my 110 SW
Mark Jenkins
Mark Jenkins 90 - his philosophy is chuck money at it whenever necessary - one less clank/squeak/rumble is closer to the finish line. Getting there, slowly, even though it would have been much more sensible to throw it away and buy a better one a long time ago. So yes, probably my own truck, as I've done too much to it to give up now!
sheeppimp
107pick up, just looks right forestry commision Roadless Traction - built for a purpose, no frills my 80in or it will be once i've done a few minor mprovements
honitonhobbit
The 200Tdi 100" Defender in either Lang or Fearn form - just so good. I also like Freelanders a lot. I have off roaded them more than most and I will always have a soft spot for them - except the V6. Best is the TD4 Auto
