used my old 90 (2 1/4 petrol) to tow a fuel tanker out of our car park at work as he couldnt quite get in to deliver all the fuel to us, was on frozen snow & he said he wieghed 21.5 tons, his boss wouldnt believe that a 90 could do it till he seen the photos (owns a Land Rover him self now)

will try to find & load up the photos

Where to start ?

This last winter, towed 5 artics to clear 37 trapped cars , towed blood transfusion courier to rendevous with a range rover to handover consignment Towed ambulance.

In Australia towed Mack semi low loader just over mile to place of safety off road 54 tons , push started two trailer Volvo road train .

Towed satellite tracking dish Liverpool to Naples for fitting to Russian ship refitting in Italy ! Moved 50ft radio mast section for radio ham mate . Winched dumped cars from old quarry to clear nature reserve. and so on they arn't called the most versatile vehicle for nothing ! Trouble is when you need to make full use of them you dont often have time for pics

Power sliding uphill on the Kirkstone Pass (The Struggle) to get round the hairpins one summer. Mind you about two days later the recovery truck driver did a better job with the 110 on the back after the stater shorted out and torched most of under bonnet wiring....

Towed a 9 meter RIB ( Cowes inshore lifeboat ) to Southampton boat show, it was so big I had a police escort,

Dragged/recovered a removals lorry that had slipped and lent itself against the house it was delivering too.....

Get called out regulary to recover stuck 4x4's all over the island, when it snowed 2010 I assisted / towed about 60 cars / vans etc in 24 hours, including a ambulance and hearse who both needed towing in the snow to the local crematorium - with 'cargo' on-board!

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, the ambulance should have gone to the hospital :hysterical:^_^ unless of course you live in Jamaica. (old lenny henry joke, so laid back there, ambulance takes so long to get there it turns up at the funeral etc...)

Drove about 5 miles on the East Coast main line (at Leeds) with one wheel in the 4 foot (between the rails) and the other in the cess (side of the track) during an RMT strike day when there were no trains.

Driving 6300 miles in 3 weeks to Morroco (and back) and not having any trouble with the car.

Spending about 600 days on my drive making the car good enought for the above trip.

The coolest thing my wife and i have done in the landrover.......thats another thread all together.

i saw that, unfortunately no one was actually silaging, my mate also has a 200TDI series 3 project so when there both back up and running we plan to fit a PTO to one, and chop (pick up grass, condition and blow into trailer) with it and use th eother to cart.

the one carting will need to have a standalone hydraulic pump in th back for the tip function.

Will a 200tdi have enough power to drive a silage harvester?
