Nigelw
I wonder if AVCIS would be smart enough to pose as a buyer and take him up on the offer to buy a VIN from the Landy shop owner? What a Fking donkey!!!!

Bowie69
I wonder if ANYONE actually thinks a 'trayback' disco looks good: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Discovery-OFF-ROAD-/121173603075?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1c36827303 or RRC for that matter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-rover-classic-tray-back-off-roader-/231051790598?hash=item35cbc28906
Retroanaconda
No-one does. They're awful. Those aren't even traybacks, they're just missing half the bloody bodywork! I've seen some nicely executed Disco/RRC pick-up conversions.
Bowie69
Pick up I can understand, it's useful still, and can look cool, but traybacks (or even attempted traybacks) are just terrible.
landroversforever
I've seen the odd one or two trayback disco or RRC which have looked OK. they're much harder to get looking nice.
Bowie69
I think the only trayback type RRC/Disco I have ever seen and though 'that's OK' was a Ute, from Oz... Like this: And this is OK, I suppose, I think they managed it due to not chopping out so much blummin bodywork: But even then, when you look at it from the back, it looks a bit odd(!):

Nigelw
If only Land Rover had taken that as a step into the commercial world they would have had a good vehicle to sell to the farming community and builders too I think?
Big.Mike
If only Land Rover had taken that as a step into the commercial world they would have had a good vehicle to sell to the farming community and builders too I think? Land Rover tried it, the chassis would have required modification apparently which would have made it unprofitable. Dunno why they couldn't have used a 110 chassis though? JeffR
Legit J reg? My 10 year old daughter rather likes that, but then again I had to buy her a pink air rifle this year (yes they do make make them.... and it is now covered in hello kitty stickers)
Retroanaconda
Could be legit. It's perfectly legal to have an older plate like that, what isn't okay is using an older identify. Query the plate on the DVLA site, if it comes back as a Discovery then it's just an older number that's been allocated to a younger car. If it comes back as a 1970 (I think?) Series II or a Range Rover or the like then it's a ringer.
