  1. Hi Steve, I use a Mocal Remote Filter Head and a MG type low profile adapter. Here is a link to the Merlin Motorsport page. Marc
  2. Why, the chassis number is on the chassis leg. Cut the front corner off and replace as an accident repair - no SVA. I kept the old bit of chassis with the number (off Ebay) as proof sir.
  3. My mate told me that a previous Ebay sale was for Historical Worth? A VIN plate, a V5 and a bit of chassis. Kinda like a bit of Berlin wall It sold for £200 I think he Hysterical Worth? Marc.
  4. I had used A Flux for many years and found them good for modified LR. The Front and Rear angles look really good and far better than any std LR. Interior looked OK in the pictures.
  5. My Series 1 V8 runs a Series Diesel Rad and an old Kenlowe and never overheats unless blocked with mud. Keep it clean and mine does not get close to overheating. I don't even have any vents or gaps to let the heat out of the bonnet as some do. What you could do is get it re-cored or flushed to ensure it has a good flow. Marc.
  6. Thanks James, I have been failing miserably to use the search effectivly even when using the three different layers of the search engine. This is a great help if it can search 3 letter acronyms. Marc.
  7. Just tio add to the aleady large number of replies on the tyres. My Series 1 has had the tyres sticking out of the arches for the last 25 years and never failed an MOT. It is a C&U thing but have you seen some of the LRs in the pictures on this forum?? I didn't even get stopped when I passed a Police car with a set of Yokahama Mud tyres on which were half way out of the arches! If you use std LR wheels and std size tyres they should actualy fit inside the arches without eyebrows although a little tight. Marc.
  8. When the Council exterminator came around our place as we had rats (chip shop next door) he told me that if they set poison for mice they don't go back to clear them up as they rot away to nothing without odour?? At another house above a shop we cought three rats, I had one in a hevy duty but small sack with my hand closed tight around the top. My mate called to me to look out and when I looked at my hand the rat (about the size of the one in the photo in a previous post here) had got out through my fist and was casualy sitting on top of my hand. I never felt a thing! Marc
  9. IIRC this also applies to Land Rover bodies as they use/used Birmabright which is an alloy? I have seen some articles in the past which stated that one of these products (not sure which of the two mentioned here) worked better than welding? Marc.
  10. Hi Steve, Can I borrow your Ultima (just in the name of an experiment of course) Actually I understand the upset, it is a real pain when I see my favourite bend coming up - plan my route (sets expectation) - and a carp driver gets bin the way and balls it all up I have a new step daughter (7) so I am new to picking her up from school. Jeez is that fun, unfortunately I have currently got both my Land Rovers in the garage for quite some time as I could realy pay back those dumb women drivers. I watched 4 women choose not to park in a gap 1mm smaller than they were used to and instead parked across the front of my car in a parking bay! Please can I borrow something like a Mog or 101 Marc.
  11. Thank you to the old and new Moderators for giving the site your time and effort, without you the Forum would I sure become something that no one wants. Having been to a few Forums this is by far the easiest to read and respond. (creeping over). Marc.
  12. Andy, As this is relevant to my build and I would dearly like this to be the case as I it would really help my project, unless we are talking different axles this is my findings but more accurately measured. I went and measured my spare RRC axle today and from the outside of one disc to the outsaide of the other is 1375mm. The outside of the disc to the the wheel mounting face is 90mm. So the actual wheel face to wheel face is: 90+1375+90 which equals 1555mm, unfortunately for me even wider that I thought Marc.
  13. Without trying to hijack the thread, do these offer good benifits? The instructions state that it must have 14.5v to function correctly. What happens if you get into charging problems or a poor battery will it still work or will you be left stranded? Marc.
  14. I spoke to Rakeway about getting one off halfshafts made and was told that it is a quick way to spend lots of money! Marc.
  15. Hi, Are you Bill or Will? Yesterday I called you Bill and now I am not sure? Anyway I spen ages yesterday trying to fiind the offset for RoStyle RRC steel wheels, I don't suppose that you have a value do you? Cheers, Marc.
  16. Am I adding 2+2 and gettig 5? But all those caravans, and the pile of tar, I'm thinking no chance of finding them if it is a pig underneath? Sorry if I'm way off. Marc.
  17. Sorry, But don't delete your entry as it may support mine or show I'm wrong? Marc.
  18. Hi Bill, I think that they are 1550mm face to face but my measuring was a bit rough. I have seen the Track as 1480 or 1486 and an offset for RoStyles as 33mm each which gave a measurement of either 1546mm or 1552mm so not so far out. I await your outcome with interest. Marc.
  19. Nice to know that you can buy anything you need to counter security systems! Hope you managed to get them off Rhys. BMW stealer told me that they would have to use a small socket on my car when the nut started to strip so it must work I guess. Marc.
  20. Plus the ability to apply common sense of course. It only shows how much money there is in these things if they can afford to spend so much on R&D knowing that the powers that be are happy cause they will earn it back pronto. Marc.
  21. Any of the above though my prefference is with a crane. Whatever you do unless the clutch was changed recently I would split the box and engine to change the clutch now rather than later. I did not change my clutch last time just the release bearing and now I have to pull it apart again to replace the clutch as well. Doh. Marc
  22. Hi, It's funny how different dealers either come through or take the P. My mate took the sump out of his new Ferrari (sorry not trying to show off I am skint myself), any way totalled the engine and the underbody. Dealer put it through as a Recall fix and minor engine work. Saved him £10K plus. Marc.
  23. Hi Nige, If one is available I'll take one set now my PayPal is working? Cheers,
  24. This is absolutely mad and coasting down hill is illegal for a very good reason, whereas cutting the fuel is not and all modernish cars do it.
