  1. It's really a load of rowlocks for the trendy urban original Defender brigade, there are allegedly forums elsewhere that full of them. What flavour clay bar and interrior shampoos are fashionable this week?
  2. "Representing arguably the ultimate version of Land Rover's iconic Defender..." I think a few of us would be quite happy to argue that point.
  3. I wish I could work up enough enthusiasm to actually book a test drive but the vehicle, reviews and marketing are not proving enough to actually want to try it, let alone buy one.
  4. Early Puma clutch plate springs used to develop a rattle fairly quickly and in fact were the subject of a recall and upgrade replacement. I remember mine want back not long after I'd bought my 2007 new but that said would have thought virtually all would have had clutch replacements by now. My later Puma's didn't suffer the same issue.
  5. And the award for the most annoying presenter and presentation goes too... ...someone known as Superblondie
  6. I bought new Defenders, I may by a Grenadier ....so what does that prove? Anyone who calls it a "Grenny" needs a serious talking to.
  7. We have just launched a new section in the Market Place intended for use by LR4x4 members to advertise and hopefully find buyers for any items that are not suitable to be placed in the forum's well established LR4x4. We've kept rules to a minimum*.. No Animal Sales or Wants Nothing Sexual, Illegal, Racist, Homophobic, ....you get the idea. ANYTHING you fancy selling non LR4x4 related you now can. Remember use of this section is for full members only. So without further waffle you will find this new facility here: For Sale - And yes even the kitchen sink * We reserve the right to adapt or change the rules should the need arise.
  8. Subtle way of asking for tiny condoms Mo 🤣
  9. I believe I would prefer the tag line to be in some nice eye catching medieval type font as it will add some gravitas to the proceedings, or maybe some swirly copperplate script will add a touch of class 😎
  10. I checked the original competition etc other day and "Independent Minds - Shared Ideas" was the one, I see no need to address it all again. I quite like the ambiguity, if this forum is to survive it needs to cater to a broad cross section which is one reason why we now have a section devoted to the Ineos Grenadier.
  11. With thanks to elbekko for the new logo as it was he who won the logo competition ...a while back.
  12. Interpreter! Interpreter! Is there an interpreter in the house than can translate please?
  13. If I were you I would stop right there! For starters you really do need to check the pushrods and valve gear properly ...and not just a visual check in situ.
  14. Please God no, not a discussion about waving on this forum ...before we know it someone will refer to the new thing as a Landy 😜 Nurse, the vomit bucket please, I'm feeling a little... 🤮
  15. Good dealer network spread that : Genuinely know the product. That are not full of sales people who only know how to punch a keyboard and operate the coffee machine. Service staff and technicians who have good product knowledge, really care and don't expect customers knowledge as never having advanced from the Ladybird Book Of Cars & Lorries. The vehicle should offer: Decent corrosion protection. Be manufactured with an eye to longevity. Robust towing points. Real knobs and switches as opposed to an over reliance on touchscreen controls. That will do for starters, I'll probably think of more when I'm not trying to do other stuff as well.
  16. Unless I've missed something I would think , although I don't know, that they are aiming it at the commercial market, which after all was one of the prime sectors LR catered for before they got all wrapped up in the lifestyle and executive BS.
  17. Yep, except I'm highly unlikely to opt for a new Defender, based on the marketing and stereotypical target customer base it just won't be my scene. My truck is up for renewal this year but I'll stall for a bit and see how the Grenadier goes.
  18. Frankly you can't please everyone all the time. No matter what the final body design they came up with there would be those who it clicked with and those that it wouldn't. The market will decide either way.
  19. Aww bless 'em, no harm in wishful thinking ....until it all goes mammaries up!
  20. A lot of the 1930's stuff I've restored in the past have steel manifold studs in block and long brass nuts that cover the entire length of the stud, or two shorter brass nuts that do the same job. They would generally undo without issue even after decades of use - as long as the thread hadn't been pulled through over tightening.
