Not managed a lot of late but filled diffs and drop boxes with oil

I put axle stands under and let car tick over in gear to allow oil to coat inside without being under load, just jamming the spinning wheel to transfer power to get the opposite drop box lubed up

I'm also pleased to report no nasty knocks and bangs

Regards Stephen

Must feel great, that🥳

Sid had a modest 20yrd run, moved from previous position of the last several months, steering seems a bit heavy but I suspect box is not great, I have another one I can try

No massive oil leaks, knocks or bangs, yes I know its early days but I'm very happy

Now he is moving its just the right motivation to crack on and get finished

Just over 5 years to build a lightweight in your spare time, and boy do I mean build! You've made or modified virtually everything, definitely earns the badge of 'Built not Bought'.

Awesome to see Sid moving :)

Congrats!

Thank you, you're very kind

5 years, wow has it been that long, that sounds slow to me, however nearly there now, even without driving it, it has been worth it he just looks so much better

Thank you all for your support and continued support for this build

Regards Stephen

Be interested to know how low....

I'm on 4.7s so my low is quite low, plus smaller tyres so crawl speed is pretty slow.

Might be closer than you think?

Sounds like we need a low 1st tick over race at 7 sisters

Just not for pink slips...........lol

Worth adding that a lot of the work was done outside in whatever the northern weather gods decided to throw at you....... making it an even more impressive timeline. :)

Definitely not slow!

Just over 5 years to build a lightweight in your spare time

This intrigued me, just had a very quick round up of how long it actually took

I've had two six month gaps where nothing happened

One five month gap

One two month gap

Three one month gaps

So a year and 10 months where he was never touched, so around 3yrs 3 months in total

I'm a bit happier with that.....lol

It's almost like you had a life get in the way of working on Sid 😮

OK, that is even more impressive.... how many winters did you actually work on Sid outside? We know you worked on him the winter just gone.

Just this winter gone, started stripping the lightweight on May 30th last year( once axles had been completed ) ready for Sid to be born

All bodywork building ( apart from vent panel ) and suspension mods have happened since May last year

Had plenty cold days in the garage though.........

Congrats mate, it’s one of the best feelings to see hard work come into fruition like that. Not only have you created something truly amazing but you have given motivation and inspiration to everyone who has followed the build. You should be chuffed.
