Les Henson
I finally got the 300TDi block back from the engineers today - +020mm rebore and the deck is fine. Some sexy pics for you that have taste! Cam bearings are still in there - I have new ones to go in. Genuine pistons. Now to spend the next couple of winter evenings in my inventing shed putting it all back together Les.
Boothy
Les Calling an "oil burner" block porn is in totally bad taste to me, and as for "sexy" well I ask you, now a V8 is a different thing altogether but every man to his own I suppose Looks good though
V8 Freak
I recon he just likes it slippery, dark oily exterior and simple ! (Bit like his women.... ) Neil
Bull Bar Cowboy
Cam bearings are still in there - I have new ones to go in.Les. Cam bearings are a bl@@dy nightmare to do, as its difficult to keep the alighnment correct as you tap them in................ a very time consuming fiddly job, but well worthwhile. The block looks good ...................was that hand or machined honed ? I cant say I agree with the thread title .................... it should be 'half an engine rebuild - deep fat frying commences soon' Ian
western
Ignore the V8 fools Les, The blocks looks very smart B) & should give years of reliable service.

V8 Freak
We know for sure it takes more than a few buckets with some V8's Mo.....
western
nearly as deep as the 2nd ford we did when I came over to yours earlier in the year Nice photo
BigSi110
Looks great Les. All these V8 chaps clearly believe in quantity over quality. The word 'efficiency' is obviously lost on them, which is why they need sooo many more cylinders and all that electrickery stuff. Proper job. Proper engine. Deliveries to the rear.
