Dackroyd
Anyone seen this? http://www.retrade.eu/aitem?aitem_id=103020 How on earth are they going to move these?
Happyoldgit
Now normally we would bin offhand posts like these from brand new posters like this but just this once I'm going to approve this one so members can appreciate the incredible subtlety at work here. On the face of it we have an enthusiastic post from a newbie which invites us to follow a link which leads to a company website by the name of Retrade Surplus Management who appear to be based in Finland, lo and behold the particular page the link send us to shows us loads of Defenders for sale! The very same post asks how are 'they' [ie Retrade] going to 'move these'? Curious to know a bit more about our new member? Well, conveniently they have supplied their contact email dh@retrade.no. Would you believe it, it appears to actually contain the same company name as the people selling all those Defenders. Gosh well I never, who would have thought it. That's pure speculation tho I've read this in other places, but supposedly the MPI engine was an Italian spec, mainly the police force http://forum.lro.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77552&start=

Orgasmic Farmer
I read somewhere (in one of the comics) that all the Italian Police Defenders had the 2.0 MPi engine (as fitted to the Disco 1) due to some sort of tax rules over there. western
Lewis ----- I didn't know that there were 2.0mpi t-series defenders in existence Italian Carabineri took a lot of 20mpi defenders a few years ago, they've replaced them with late 300tdi versions, wonder if these are un issued vehicles. one on this set of pics on page 31 https://ics-documents.s3.amazonaws.com/attachmentsv1/dc5768ba/1427/4cc1/a6d9/01e019dca48c/609/Skandinavisk_Service_Partner_Dokumentation_Land_Rover_Defender_90_outside.pdf has CARABINIERI showing on top of front screen can't see how they will sell at the price 600,000.00 EUR = 494,718.05 GBP

From the paperwork they all have between 200,000km and 300,000km on the clock (a couple said n.d whatever that means) so by no means knackered but certainly not un-issued

pete3000
as well as the steering wheel being on the wrong side is the gearbox the wrong way round (1 forward gear 5 reverse), like the Italian tanks used to be? Coat-Door
Bull Bar Cowboy
The reserve price is for all of the 100 vehicles, as they are being sold as 1 lot. However even at £5k a pop (assuming the current exchage rate) it going to be difficult to make any money once the transportation and COS (total cost of sales) are taken into the bottom line. CwazyWabbit
Don't forget that 57 of those 100 are petrol engined so will probably have less appeal. I don't see them as a good deal at all by our standards ..... however aren't Defenders a lot more expensive in Europe? If so then maybe they are a bargain to a mainland Europe buyer? tacr2man
Better deal than that you can have your pick of 60 mercedes bendy buses ex TFL £15000 , each 200,to 300,000 kms !!!
