  1. Surely quantity and purchasing power has a huge involvement here. Unless you find a re-seller who also buys in the quantity that LR etc do you will pay a premium for small orders? Marc.
  2. So as I use PayPal does this mean I am safe as there are no Credit Card details on record? How PCI DSS will affect Paddocks I am not sure, for some major web based companies PCI compliance can cost around £20M to implement in each country applicable. How much of PCI Paddocks have to implement for compliance would be interesting. Marc.
  3. As an over fifty (now I'm a saga) I don't even get quoted TPF&T as FC is cheaper. But Academy sounds good, all my policies are 3,000 miles only. BTW speeding has never bothered any insurance company that I have been with (not that I have a bad points record I just want to know) They know the truth not the Government bull. Marc.
  4. Can't believe the luck of this guy in the link. He gets the broken bit out and the stuck bolt, THEN snaps the tap off in it I hope that this problem has better results. Sounds like the local company is the best bet if that's their skill. Good luck as this is really demoralising when it gets more and more difficult to solve. Marc.
  5. As "Easyouts" or similar have a steep slope on the left hand twist is it not possible to use a punch to jar it round clockwise to remove it from the original bolt? After that it would be back to try and remove the old bolt. Marc.
  6. I just got eight of them but they are from Paddocks so although they look the same as LR I am not sure? ERC3606 but not all versions are the tin ones I have seen one company selling fibre versions under the same part number. Marc.
  7. Hmm not such a good idea as you will be altering the wheel from manufacture (I assume it is used on the road?). Marc.
  8. Good job, are there are any pictures? I guess not as you'd have used them. What thickness of Ali did you use and did you have to use any heat to avoid work hardening during or prior to the process? I recently (last year or so) bought up Hybred_from_Hell's collection of Series1 doors but he only hit trees from the same side as he only had passenger doors left Marc.
  9. Microcat also has the following Bosch items: STC1245 Bosch 0 331 303 165 STC3715 Bosch 9 330 331 006 Marc.
  10. Never occoured to me that hte book was available online:) Cheers. Marc.
  11. Not heard of this before, how new an idea is it? Does it cure the sticking risk of the standard plunger? Cheers, Marc.
  12. Nige, Are you going to fit a thermostat on to a 4.6 Gems manifold? My 4.0 Gems does not have provision for a thermostat as it uses the type in the last picture. When I looked at the manifold with the elbow removed there is no groove for the thermostat. Marc.
  13. As said above you might not need to replace the whole area covered by the repair panel, but consider that the repair panel is known to be new good metal. The metal of your curent foot well may look good but may not last and also it may not weld too well. In the long run it may be better to use the whole panel as is? Marc.
  14. Great idea, Unfortunately for me I don't wear T shirts or Rugby shirts just Polo shirts. Any chance? Marc.
  15. Well it wasn't me as mine is on the drive with the engine in bits awaiting parts, so the last thing I want is snow and cold weather. Surely if there is no grip ABS won't help anyway? But I agree with your sentiment though. Marc.
  16. Here are a couple of pics from my old Hybred. RRC Steel wheel and 7.50 SAT 8 Spoke and 7.50 As can be seen they will stick out a bit but you would probabbly get away with the RRC wheel? Marc
  17. I've not had a problem insuring a Hybred but then I used the same insurance company as the the one the previous owner used so they already knew about it. The "Q" plate issue is going to be interesting as the rules have changed over the years since it may have been buit? If you have the receipts then the DVLA may be able to explain it's status? Then again if it was ileagal some years ago then you could be open to a whole lot of pain backdated to the original date of build? I scrapped my Hybred as I was not confident about it's status and I qwould not sell it to anyone who was not completely conversant with all the ownership of it encompassed.
  18. Not only that but the 3" of tread sticking out is another! Marc.
  19. OK Cheers, Marc. Ah ha, recopied Micro launch, Success. The first version had no Icon the new version had an "ABC" Icon and worked fine. Cheers.
  20. Hi James, Great stuff thanks for sharing. However I have just tried the Microlaunch.exe thing on XP and it comes back with Not a Valid Win32 Application. Do you have any ideas on this one? Cheers Marc.
  21. I can see why you were annoyed as I would expect that they would check the actual stock before you drove over. I use Dingocroft regularly as they are nearish and are open a bit later than the Main Stealer who hates looking for parts. I was in there tonight and now I have Microcat it was a bit weird seeing them use the same program. Yesterday I was in Maplin for a part which the computer said that they had 15 off on the shelf. Two members of staff repeatedly checked the same shelf as the computer should be correct! I could not convince them to stop looking at the shelf Marc.
  22. That is also how mine started. The valve was staying open then when warm would close OK. Finally it took too long to close and the misfire was permanent. Marc.
  23. How loud is the noise? Mine started as a light tappet noise then became a load CLACK like a hammer blow from inside the engine. I doubt yours is that loud or you would have stopped using it. But mine is a stuck valve. Marc.
  24. Ooo eeer don't tell your missus Marc.
