  1. have you tried locking and unlocking it on the fob?
  2. I had the same problem when i had a leaky fuel pressure regulator(sucking air/water not leaking fuel), if it had been raining, or i washed my truck it would act up. was eventually tracked down to the pressure regulator, replaced and ever since been fine!
  3. yes its a very simple swap out swap in job, should be able to swap in around 20mins. Check that the leak isnt coming from the fuel filter end of the pipes, if the copper washers have been disturbed (or forgotten) the pipe joint leaks and runs down the pipe and makes it look like the lift pump is leaking.
  4. The barrel should go back to position 1, probably a faulty barrel. Try squirting WD40 into and "working" it. There is nothing that "controls" the barrel.
  5. TPORE are actively seeking people to participate in our novice winch challenge series www.tpore.co.uk
  6. depends on the year of your 90 i presume, Do you know if your 90 has 10 or 24 spline axles? Some of the last 200tdi 90's (and discoverys) got sent out the factory with the later, 300tdi spec, 24 spline axles. You could, if you find your on 10spline, swap the front axle for a 24 spline unit.
  7. So what does everyone think of this? made from aluminium and TIG'ed at the top. Do people think they'd sell if some more were made? would need to be sold at around £45 a pop to make it worth while. Thoughts please!
  8. yes all drop arms will fit the splines. (that i am aware of, 6 bolt 3 bolt and 4 bolt that i have in my possession have the same spline) I am currently thinking about swapping on a discovery/range rover drop arm to eliminate the terrible dreaded defender drop arm ball joint. You will however have to move the steering damper to the rear of the axle. Same as a disco/rrc
  9. He does infact use exactly those joints, the prototype arms are on my mates red tornado. They work very well, however I personally wouldnt trust the chassis end mounting style!
  10. http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/12836/3030/TE110071L-STUD-M10-X-35.html?limit=0
  11. ^^ thats not really true, Its been tested, and you have to sit within feet of the back of the lorry to have any gain at all.
  12. Im going to buy one just to have a look inside, there HAS to be a relatively simple way to work out TDC.
  13. My local site only offers the site to clubs that carry their own outright insurance. My club takes its own portaloo tent thingy, and we have a local burger lady come for refreshments. £20 is about the going rate i feel.
  14. Yep, your difflock lever is perfectly normal!! As said above, the difflock light may be a dodgey diff lock switch or wiring gremlin
  15. i must admit, i wasn't impressed this year! I saw some innovative designs and interesting expensive stuff, but ultimately it was exactly the same as last year. Half the stands weren't there, I was wondering how they were going to cram all those exhibitors into that relatively small room! Bought myself some lovely deltatech goodies and a winch rope!
  16. i belive theyre all RTC 4587, same as all the propshafts
  17. They're not quite as "bolt on" as they advertise, there is a certain amount of drilling and tapping and other things to make it fit!
  18. Not sure they can be repaired as they're only flimsy plastic, but you can buy STC2834. I have a 300tdi breaking at the moment, and can post you the part, and the indicator stalk for £10 plus postage and packaging.
  19. I agree with Si, molested vehicles fetch a lesser price, in my opinion because you never know how well the "modifications" have been carried out. I would always like to buy a standard vehicle and modify myself. If i were you, id throw a canvas roof on, and store your hard top, so you can always swap back to original.
  20. HFH does lovely thermostat removal plates, as to give slight back pressure to the pump (or so i think) When i did my rear rad, i used 1/2bsp push connectors onto a mocal oil cooler. At the gearbox end i cut the hard lines, and jubilee clipped the flexible oil hose over the top. worked a treat and costs next to nothing.
  21. On the more modern zf4hp22 the oil ports areM18 x 1.5 thread, on the early 22"s these threads are M16 X 1.5
