  1. Maybe a blown manifold to Y pipe gasket if the sound is loudest under load, they are difficult to check as they can blow at the rear ie. facing the block.
  2. The sunroof is leaking because of a faulty seal, not because of a detached drain tube that'sonly there just to take any run-off if the sunroof is raised with water laying on top, that's why they are at the front only and you have a plastic strip on the leading edge of the glass to divert any water to the sides . Sort the seals and you have sorted the leaks.
  3. Yup two micro switches on a single button system Central locking and immobilise they have plastic operating cams, or did, that break sometimes you will have to have the door card off for a look see.
  4. Yup.. just the same as if you required an addidional front door key at home.
  5. As you already have a key then pop along to the local shoe repairers, most will cut a key to match you existing keys profile. Why buy replacement locks? Single button system is very different from the two button system so not plug & play.
  6. Trade £695 then selling between £1070 - £2595 for a 300 tdi according to LROs used prices info, but as for yours, at the monent scrap value at around £350 the same my mate got recently for his RRC with an MOT but with a blown head gasket.
  7. All D2s have the facility (D1s don't) for marker lights inside the front amber indicator lens, if not already in use just knock out the blank and fit a bulb and holder and take the supply locally from the side light supply. There's threads some where in the LR forums showing, how to, pics and giving part numbers.
  8. The two front bolts are M12 x 130mm long you will also require two spacers ANR3629 but that depends on the tow bar you are fitting ie. 200 or 300 series. The two bolts to the bumper are again M12.
  9. I remember that my old 3.5 use to play up with idle speeds, I just put Redex into the petrol tank and clean the crankcase breather and the hose to the plenum and everything was back to normal.
  10. Don't see why you can't fit the D1 cover disc on the spare wheel asuming your wheels are 16inch. D2s never had one and you won't get one in 18inch other than that just pull on a cheepy plastic universal cover from a supplier on e-bay same with the disc.

  12. Could be or it's maybe. Chapter 19 in this link will list the other componants used in the CC plus other info on operation and testing.. http://www.landy.pl/LandRoverDiscoveryWorkshop1995-1996.pdf
  13. "Contrary to my usual experiences when finding a problem and apparently fixing it, everything worked when I put it back together" Well done
  14. That happend to my mates sunroof, a nylon roller shattered allowing the curved locking mech to jump out of it's sliding grove he had to get a replacement sunroof just for this part and then went to get all his money back by selling the spare electric motor and blinds on ebay.
  15. You only have two seals, the glass seal which you can see and the frame to body seal which you can't one or both is faulty and requires replacing. The glass will only clamp down on the seal as far as the mechanism will allow there's no adjustment.
  16. As the Count above states your keyfob must be full functional to remobilise the engine and if it's been in water forget it, remove the blade and throw the rest a way and get a new one.
  17. if your are looking at an XS or ES in standard form you don't have an opition, both are SLS (air bags). It depends what you mean by "high maintenance" but there is a maintenance aspect to SLS, where as with 'springs' it's nil.
  18. Sorry. HR = high resistance .. I had my electrical engineers cap at the time
  19. You have a non-standard disco then, it's NOT as it left the factory. If you had mention earlier that your disco was no-standard you would have had your answer quicker.
  20. Either lubrication or an HR earth connection
  21. He has found the dim dip relay which you mentioned, and as you stated correctly that's the only relay. You can't do more than tell them I've just left the resistor unpluged to isolate the dim dip system. I have LED sidlights which are brilliant but looked a bit naff along with the dim light of the dim dip system.
  22. As they have an ECU so in theory the PCB can suffer from dry joints.
  23. Quite right . ... but as this is a V8 thread which may require a full emissions test my previous statement stands true.
  24. Yes it should activated either via key in the drivers door lock or a remote fob
