  1. What the man said. And please pay for the best seal you can get - go to Turner.
  2. France is eh.... France. They want a French CoC that complies with the French parameters. I have been able to get a few modified vehicles on French plates but it is not easy. A "bog standard" Ex MOD 110 should be possible. Should.
  3. Certificate of Confomity from the JLR France was required for the last 18 Land Rovers we did. But if the poster wants more info he'll let us know.
  4. Ehm... We did the TB swop on the 110 in 3 hrs. 15 min. incl. a treabreak. We got the TB from Synchro and never took that back plate off. Ramp and transmission lift are very nice though - I have done it on the drive way a few times but ramp is so much easier.. Good Luck.
  5. Seriously, immatriculating a foreign vehicle in standard form in France is not more complicated than in the UK at the moment. If the UK is no longer part of the EU thing could change - but at the moment is it not that complicated. IF the LR has been modified, esp. the fuel type, you are going to have a serious challenge. PM me for details if you want through this forum or via the site mentioned below. Bon Courage.
  6. Hmm... 2 x in 12,000 miles is not standard. What use has the vehicle ? Low gear plodding around, motorway hammering all the time ? What did the computer say ?
  7. Yes. The "We don't have time to answer the phone / emails as we are far too busy" companies are not what I like to work with. I have a few suppliers and they know me, I know them. They are not always the cheapest but they get the stuff here, in time and reply to my comms. In the end, one usu. get what one pays for.
  8. Bonjour ! Yes - LT = Light Truck. Any tyre depot should be able to get you those. Bon Courage from the Allier (03)
  9. Buy something else if talking "long distance motorway journeys".. Seriously.. Tdci is not that bad, really.
  10. Yes.. Turner has been crucial in solving the rear crank seal problems we had with a 200 Tdi. Good luck !
  11. One gets usu what one pays for. If you can afford it - go where the quality is good and the service too..
  12. Could be the light switch - but also the indicator switch as dipped beam goes through it. Check the diagram for what colour does what - mine are custom wired so useless. In the column you can check the multiplugs to see if there are any problems - and if the live feed is there.. Bon Courage !
  13. Sounds like a good one ! Make sure the diff lock isn't stuck. Raise a front wheel and see if it spins. Engage diff lock and it should stop - may take some rotation. If not use enough they get hard to engage..
  14. Hope we can see you here some day Mike and enjoy some Laning ! Again, Big Thanks.
  15. You guys are AWESOME !! A HUGE Thank You to Dave & Mike - very much appreciated. Hope to meet you either here - good Laning - or over there : IF you guys let me in with the new Visa rules.....
  16. I would vote for Shabs too, the box would be better than new.
  17. As I said, combining work & collection of these made it very worth wile. This stuff is 3 x the price in Holland. "good campsites en route from Calais to St Tropez" ? IF you take the A71, take exit 11 and go to "Trouve.eu" They know Land Rovers, are 6 miles away from us and have good facilities. Bon Route !
  18. We have Continental Cross Countries and are very happy with them.
  19. Not sure if you guys are interested but I'm just back from a 6 days trip to Holland to collect roofing materials and to do some work - helps to pay for this lot... All in all, a 2,290 miles in 6 days with a 200 Tdi Ninety. Through monsoon like rain, up the hills in the Ardennes, endless motorway miles on the AutoRoute. Not fast, not the most comfortable but it sure got the job done..
  20. IF, and that is a big IF, the new one would look anything like that it could be a good one. This is the 1st "concept" that sort of appeals to me. Proper engine, heater and tow capacity and I think I could be looking for it....
  21. There is a saying about old skydivers and ... skyidivers Get well Mike - must meet again.
  22. My drive home is usually some 1.000 kms. through 4 countries. Like you, time, energy, costs & idiots on the road play a big role. Off to a client later this year - 2.000 kms. one way - 7 countries. Going to be fun.
  23. It will not really sort of line up I'm afraid. Mods are needed. I am about to take the 2.5 N/A out and fit a 200 Tdi in the Series and heating is a point to address. Before getting drastic, some people have fitted a sandwich heater - 2 Series matrixes in the box and that does seem to make a difference. As I have an Webasto lying around, I'm not too worried and will prob. end up building something from scratch.
