You of all people should'nt be putting thoughts like that in my head........You nasty nasty man....lol

I would need @steve b's 109, just because he has already widened it.......

As i said previously in this thread I have wondered about tracks for a long time

Had a couple of hours spare this afternoon so started having a look at rock slider

This is where I'm at, using 100 x 100 x 3mm angle iron, obviously this will be boxed when finished and provide a means to bolt the floor panels to

was thinking of riveting some thin aluminium checker plate onto the top once fabricated

thoughts ?

Rather than riveting something to it or using grip tape, you could paint them with some U-POL raptor paint.

In my (limited) experience with it as bed liners, it is good for grip both dry and wet. In my (extensive) experience with it on chassis, it is also quite good at resisting stone chips.

So, given that the sliders will be in the firing line of any debris, it could provide grip on the top and chip protection everywhere else?

In that case, I would go with someting like grip tape, given how terrible chequer plate is for stepping on.

I put this on the tubular parts of my tree sliders nearly 3 years ago and it has stayed on and worked well. Put the same on the 110 I just rebuilt as it works so well

Won't work now he's widened the track and put it on portals he's going to have to widen and raise the tracked one as well as Sid's just going to drive right over it.

Works champion

you will have noticed there is an issue here...

jack is too short to lift wheels off the ground.....

gonna have to look at some straps to limit travel when I need to use the high lift
