Popular Post Bowie69
Sooooo..... not quite treasure from the scrap man, but due to two other people passing on the prize, this arrived this morning: Yes, that is sat on my dining table, and I am currently wondering whether I can bring myself to put a hammer anywhere near it. If you are wondering if the shininess is just an artefact of the camera, you are right, it is FAR shiner in person, I can clearly see my face it. Stephen, you are a gent 👏😀👍🙌 4

Bowie69
Currently sat in a field, supping a beer, looking out over Lundy and Bideford Bay, so the garage has been a long way from my thoughts of late

Stellaghost
Some more treasure for me today just out of curiosity is the bulkhead worth saving not really had much to do with 90 stuff regards Stephen
L19MUD
All of that would make an excellent start point for someone to get doors/bulkhead restored and ready to swap over prior to a project!!
Stellaghost
A quick question as you guys will know better I've just bought a 300tdi D1 and it has these alloys on I was wondering if they would be ok for my future double cab project thanks in advance regards Stephen
Bowie69
Check the load rating on the back of them, they will need to cope with whatever the GVM is of the 110DC. They may or may not fit over the drive flanges, dependant on the age of the axles, you need the later thinner ones, and not the massive mushrooms of the early axles. You can get round it with spacers, but you may well not want to....

Anderzander
They’re not going anywhere 🙂
landroversforever
They’re boosts, so factory option on 110s. Certainly on station wagons. Would have to check the rear axle weight vs the rating on the wheel as above.
Anderzander
oh yes .. 😯 I just read ‘discovery’ and thought they were those ones that looked similar but were lighter weight. 🤪 Looks like you are good to go there Stephen !
Snagger
Those Boost wheels are one of few rated for 110s. They’re a solid option.
Badger110
My USW came with boosts as standard and the USW is rated with a HD load capacity ( 1 tonne )

David Sparkes
Crickey, people scrap it because of a failed simple componant (plus a possibly failed tyre). Whatever money they have they don't deserve it, because it certainly isn't valued. Regards.
Peaklander
A guy at our local re-cycling site had cleared the deck of his pickup and was just moving a Stihl chainsaw along the bed, when he picked it up and was about to chuck it into the non-recyclable opening. I made some comment like, "you aren't throwing that are you" and he said he was and "did I want it?" I did have it and even had petrol in the tank. It worked first pull and. He said "he'd got a newer one". 2

Peaklander
The older I get, the more annoying I find it! There’s rebuilding stuff which is hard and only a few can do and there’s repairing which many could do if they try to and make time for it. Then there’s total laziness, not just about making do and mending but the “can’t be bothered to see if anyone else might want it” attitude. That’s where the local FB groups are at least helping to slow this by offering free ads and people around here at least, are gifting stuff or selling cheaply.
Popular Post missingsid
I may be pampering my 8 yr old son but hopefully I am teaching him, everything he has "broken" I have fixed. 100% success todate so he realises that a. He won't get a new one and b. Stuff can be fixed. 4
Bigj66
How is the Sankey project coming along Stephen? I’ve one here that’s parked up until I can get the V8 finished but after that it’s going to be a full strip and rebuild so I’m on the lookout for threads where people have done similar.
