  1. I promise myself one of those ones every time I go in there... haven't got 600 quid at the moment though
  2. You could certainly prolong its life for a bit with the right repair panels but TBH I would just find a good 2nd hand one/new one and fit that instead, By the time you add in the cost of repair panels you might as well get a whole new one, I paid £50 for mine, got it blasted for £10 then just painted it myself, tipped it upside down and filled it with waxoyl! If I could turn back time I would have got it galvanised... Mike
  3. Off the top of my head you'll want 3 3/8UNF for the angle-xmember, 2 M16 x 30ish for the drop plate-angle, M10 x 100ish for the drop plate-xmember and M16 x 100ish for the others... Mike
  4. Just got mine! Thanks for all the hard work Jim!
  5. Ok will try again tomorrow! Thanks for the speedy reply! Mike
  6. Hi Could someone who has a functioning 109 please look and tell me if the front mount for the tank is indeed a 1.5" 3/8th UNF bolt, if so how the hell do you get the little bugger in? There isn't space to get a bolt that long into the ludicrously small space , am I missing some sort of extra bracket? I could carry on futilely trying to get it in upside down ie nut on top but the parts manual is adamant it goes in the other way up! Help! Mike
  7. your dash looks very neat and professional I hear Pete (Raceface120) is available for complete rewires if he doesn't suffer a nervous breakdown doing mine Mike
  8. Had exactly the same problem, I made my own tool by getting an old cheap spanner and trimming the outer edges of the open end down to fit, then if you use it at an angle there is just enough room to do it 1 flat at a time flipping the spanner each time, it takes a little while but its only nipped up from hand tight so not too bad, probably could have done better but I was on a friends drive in the rain Mike
  9. Thats also why you'll find a bottle of brandy in most A&E departments!
  10. Can't remember the exact price off the top of my head but last time I was in Costco I was shocked how much the magnatec was and its normally much cheaper there... I use the big blue 25L drums of Chevron/Texaco from costco IIRC bout 17 quid each... Mike
  11. OK here are G and H! http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01HRm95VnMyWGZ2Wmc9PQ Mike
  12. Hi Martin OK seems to have worked! you can download it from http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01IZGVVQXBRYTgwTVE9PQ It will be available for 7 days apparently so if somebody could work out how to put it in the tech archive everyone can have it! After that people will have to email me their email address so I can resend it.... Mike
  13. Hi I have the haynes French-English technical dictionary which is very useful when you have broken down in France (ask me how I know ) I have scanned it for you/tech archive but its an 18Mb PDF, too big for my email account, If someone tells me the idiot guide of how to upload it I'll sort it out ASAP! Mike
  14. Hi Got my big snap on top box off ebay for £40! bargains out there if your patient... also have a machine mart non bb cab and topbox and they are ok but drawers are very small and I have consequently run out of space... they have both survived many trips in the back of the 110, one downside is that the locking mechanism on the top box is useless! Mike
  15. Count me and Cat in, although we will be camping, hopefully in the back of my 110 assuming Pete finishes the wiring in time! Mike
  16. Hi I live near Pete Attryde and am close to the wirral if any members from there have ordered one? Mike Hughes
  17. If you have a costco near you get the 3 ton one from there, its fantastic but flipping heavy IIRC its about 40-50kg ish will go low enough to get under a lowered 190 or an mx5 and will lift high enough (under diff) to get a 33" landy tyre a foot off the floor! was around £50 IIRC Mike
  18. Errr have you seen the size of a standard garage in the uk? Most of us cant get 1 car in! Looks very nice, surely a few minutes with a grinder and you would have a hole in the middle of the floor you could work through? Mike
  19. Hi I fitted defender seats in the 109 and rangy seats in my defender, easy to do, whoever told you about the seats needing anchoring down like seatbelts was spouting, they (and you) are stopped by the seatbelt in a crash, which is why seatbelts are very securely fixed. Mike
  20. Bring it over and get the die drinder on it! will be there sat am and sun pm as have family stuff to do... vwp order is on the bonnet! Mike PS watch your feet for some reason the 109 dumped the contents of its sump
  21. Another vote for Kaspersky, Does everything it needs to without slowing you down, customer support is brilliant, they even rang 2 days after our enquiry to make sure we were still happy! Never had a virus and its computer mong friendly... Its cheap too! Mike
  22. Yup use them and they are great, seem to outlast gardening type gloves, agree that they aren't ideal for fiddly stuff, I use mine for air/power tools and welding mainly Mike
  23. I have bought from them over the internet and in person and have occasionally had ok service from them Mike
