UdderlyOffroad
In my case: Half of a persian rug acting as an anti-slip mat in the load area. Works too, and helps protect furniture! danebrewer
Very true, I know a couple of folkes who have had problems when trying to hand stuff in to the police, these days most people just had stuff to me as I have a licence for most things but if you do ever come accross a family heirloom in the attic and want to keep it hand it in to a dealer as letting the police have it will result in you never seeing it again. Oh and pump action and semi auto shotguns were not outlawed they just moved from a shotgun licence to a firearms licence, you just need to give a good reason for owning one I once found a five shilling coin in a range rover but it was a 1991 year and a 25m tape measure, very usefull when laying out my new garden design! Brookers aaaactually, a shotgun, for it to be held on a shotgun certificate may have a magazine capacity of no more than 2. so for pumps and SA shotguns it's 2 in the mag and one up the spout, for double barrels it's not an issue, if the gun holds more than 3 rounds in the mag it must be entered onto a FAC where "good reason" is required..... this is turning into a thread on "The Hunting Life" forum! Les Henson
I phoned the Old Bill and the guy at the other end of the phone said "don't you know anyone with a gun?" I dropped them off at the Police station in the end, which they didn't like at all I was going to be flippant and say that I had a load of guns, but they were all unlicensed, but didn't want my front door kicking in at 3am Les. tychoS
In a CSW from 1984 I found a couple typewritten sheets of blue paper listing all the "optional luxury extras" like ashtray, passenger side mirror, mudflaps etc. In another I found a mint condition hunting knife. In a Land Rover that came back from a rather unhappy visit to a self proclaimed "land rover specialist", I found a very useful Knipex needle nose pliers in good condition, which served as reimbursement for a tiny bit of the hefty bill for the "repair". sean f
Oh and pump action and semi auto shotguns were not outlawed they just moved from a shotgun licence to a firearms licence, you just need to give a good reason for owning one Brookers Was aware of that, I had my mossberg restricted to 3 shots and kept it on my SGC, also have a FAC but couldn't be bothered with putting the mossberg on that. Just trying to keep thing simple. The problem arose that they restricted shotguns to 3 shots AND required individual registration at the same time, a lot of cheep pumps and semi's just got taken out the cabinet and hid under the bed, if it you didn't pay to have it converted you were expected to just hand them in compensation was only for rifles (generally this was called the legalised theft scheme, all shot guns and semi auto rifles handed in where officailly destroyed, there is strong evidence that significant numbers particularly at the high end of the market appeared on the US market whilst the previous legal owners are STILL waiting for compensation payments over 20 years later, I am still owed money from stuff handed in in 98 after the handgun ban). Once these are out of the legal system it is not easy to get them back in the legal system so they often get into the hands of people you would rather not had them. Thing we are starting to get a bit of topic for a land rover forum though!.
elbekko
you just need to give a good reason for owning one I take it "to shoot idiots" isn't a good reason to them?

I bet the loss of tools is fairly common from what we have on here! not knowing you're actually driving arpound with the spanner all the time when you think you've lost it! edessex
I've owned almost 30 vehicles in the past 6 years... and found just about everything except active guns and dead bodies (although I have bought a couple of cars with buggered boot locks, and so have gone a week or so without being able to open them, and have been VERY careful when I have decided to open them!) Always find various coins, have also found condoms ('mainly' unused ), knifes, soft drugs, baseball bats, a bale of straw, rope, shotgun shells, random unmarked bags of powders, car parts, bottles of alcohol, woman's shoes, clothes (including knickers)... the list is endless...
