Popular Post Stellaghost
My cunning plan... In the nice surroundings of my kitchen, with island suitably protected I'm going to endeavour to label up all these cut wires with the aid of the wiring manual, hopefully when that's done I will know where I'm at regards Stephen
FridgeFreezer
That's the way to do it - I get through a ton of labels (both improvised and properly printed). I also use hundreds of "disposable" cable ties to hold things roughly where they need to be while I loom stuff up - I buy 1000 packs of the cheap skinny ones purely for this purpose before finalising it all by working along the loom cutting off the cheap ones and putting proper black (UV proof) ones on properly tensioned & cut flush. Also also use cheap coloured cable ties (esp. yellow) to temporarily hold stuff that makes it obvious I need to go back & finish it - an un-trimmed bright yellow cable tie is easy to spot on a loom!

Well, yeah, not all are UV proof but the good ones tend to be black rather than "natural" colour.
Ed Poore
@Stellaghost for what it's worth I don't think you'll be needing 90% of those fuses and relays... Probably easier to start from that diagram I sent you...

Ed Poore
Bear in mind what you have there is the fuse box for a very high end car with lots of electrics. The engine itself is pretty self contained as it was fitted to a bunch of cars so Toyota by and large tried to simplify it by having only two connectors to deal with - the big Main Engine Harness connector that provides power etc. to various engine related things and then the fourth connector on the ECU for it's required comms. TD5toV8110
Once you get your head around it there are not a lot of wires to make the engine run! 🙃

Stellaghost
Just browsing through the net... Anyone remember this, I can remember reading this year's ago, this is what got me wanting portals in the first place. dangerous doug
Love that thing, is why I fell in love with lightweights. Sad to say it was bought just for the portals and then weighed in. Saw that one aswell It was just another trayback 90 with air shocks up front. Nothing special. At the time I dare say it may have been pushing boundaries but this was circa 2010
Stellaghost
Just read the artical again, missed the weight, 1800kg, Sid is just about bang on with that, so pleased I made everything aluminium above the chassis. Popular Post Stellaghost
My possible future rear steering project bits, will most likely bin the steering wheel for a joy stick as I think it will be easier to control Just need to keep a look out for a 404 front axle or steering portal box ends regards Stephen
