Worst Piece Of LR Design

Right chaps,

No matter which flavour of LR you have what is the worst piece of design on it?

I'll start with the wiring loom on a '99 Defender where it passes under the steering column under the dash, absolutely impossible to trace individual wires

The fact that your chassis isn't galvanised is not allowed!

Handbrake & Plastic Radiator caps

Also, the rear door stay, bonnet stay, lack of drink holders, heater vents, heater, lack of airbags....

Can't complain though - it's the lousy features that keep people like me in business!

The mud traps.

Gotta be the mud traps.

Most other things you can live with, as it's an offroader foremost.

But the mud traps all over the place, inexcusable.

Oh, and deleting the top oil fill on the gearbox. Madness.

Although another one caught my attention recently... I reversed into my garage door as it was closing (by itself, I didn't ask it to!). It didn't do much damage to the car (a Disco 1), except the rear screen wash jet. Problem is that the water/washer pipe that feeds the jet appears to run through a section of body that is sealed. Was a bu**er to get hold of and pull back through!

Rear crossmember of defenders.... Far to comfy looking from a blackbirds nesting point of view. I guess it serves me right for not moving the truck for nearly 3 months :P.

Gearbox filler points... no idea how I'm going to get to them! probably a floor out job!

Defender door seals.

Old style defender hinges that wear out.

seatbelt catching on the door every time it closes!

I'm sure I'll be back with more!!

nuts on the bottom of the 90/110 front shocks, which weld themselves on.

s#!tpart fuel tanks, hate the 90 slightly more than the 110 (which needs doing again). The nuts and bolts on the tank bracket were put there by magic and the 90 tank doesn't fit between the chassis rail and bodwork without "modification". :o
