CwazyWabbit
That's reminiscent of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, although instead of leatherface wearing his victims skin it's Discoface wearing a poor victim series skin ....

Mike I agree, no way that would retain the origional plate, first time that gets check by officials that actually have a brain and it is off the road till it gets a Q plate regardless of the paper work as that would all refer to a leaf sprung 80" not the vehicle presented. Is nicely finished though, f it was on an honest plate it would make a nice drivable run around.
jbs
Not tax or MOT exempt WTF are these people playing at to think they can get away with anything like it? John
squaddiefox
Ringers are the way forward with this market. Didn't you know? Looks carp with the wheels and on coil springs would make anyone worth their salt check everything again.
Nigelw
It defies belief that people still look at "TAX FREE" as a huge selling point, now with the "MOT EXEMPT" thing it is absolutely absurd. What it does do though, is lead to further and tighter controls on Automotive transport, the main reason why the rolling tax exemption was dropped, to stop an influx of modern cars being used as daily transport and not paying tax. This is just a sham on wheels, would arrange a viewing and take VOSA with me to check it over
jbs
It really beggars belief people are still trying this on which Is why I made the comment above, John

FridgeFreezer
"Race-tuned" 3.5 V8 making "approx 300bhp" (yeah, right) and a flip-front that makes it rather tricky to work on that super-tuned engine: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDROVER-DEFENDER-110-V8-RACE-TUNED-V8/111395598157
RedLineMike
my 3.5 v8 sounded just like that, & i know it only had at most 100hp as it had about 5psi of oil pressure

I bought a pair of usb charging outlets off him at one show, at a later show he had started to provide a mounting plate with them. After a chat he offered to send me the plates if I emailed him my address, having still not got around to emailing him before the next show I spoke to him at he took my details and has since sent the plates through. I have bought numerous items off him at what I consider to be fair prices and know that these steps in stainless are usually a lot cheaper on his stand. CwazyWabbit
Considering the 100+ Defenders siezed in the USA over the last few days it's surprising to see this for sale over there http://www.ebay.com/itm/131240348938 Hey, maybe it actually is a 1978 Defender ......... mudmagnet
It's not likely to be crushed as it's already florida registered it must of been imported a while back Quite expensive though
CwazyWabbit
The defenders that have been siezed in the last couple of days have been in the States for a number of years and are in some case on their second owner, so they too were already registered. Seems a crack down is going on.
