oneandtwo
I haven't had a 200tdi for years, but picked this up today, it's the third 90 I've bought this year. Must be one of the very last 200,s as its on an L late, has disc back axle and a vin tag behind the screen. As purchased straight off the farm, no idea where the door went! What was the rear cross member Drop arm ball joint! My favourite- beneath the mud it has had new calipers fitted to the wafer thin discs, but never plumbed in! Maverik
A hard luck case.. Irresistible!!!
western
Cripes that's in a sorry state, hope the owner paid you to remove it from his property. the blue sticker on the IW top is the garage my 110 was bought from.
Landrovernuts
Looks like a Winston Pincombe sticker. It looks like a race lightened 90 with no doors, most of the crossmember missing and the immense weight of the rear brake pipes!!
Nigelw
New door, and a new rear Xmember and maybe refurbish the brakes an good to go, leave the dro arm ball joint, it adds character to the driving.

Character being added brown seat covering?
Davo
Ironically, that's a perfect example of what a Land Rover is meant for.
Anderzander
And to think of all the money I've wasted on replacing ball joints, when I could have just used a bit of baler twine !
Mo Murphy
Late cross over Tdi, got to be worth 200k ? Mo
oneandtwo
Lots of the defenders I buy were run into the ground like this however they are getting rarer and harder to find. Still lots of useful bits on it, galvanised cappings, the unused calipers (!) recon steering box, engine and box are very good, amazingly under all the mud the truck cab window trims are much better than my hicap ones. Davo
Won't it be fun trying to find useful bits from the "Defender replacement" in twenty years?
Anderzander
What are your plans with it then ? Spares or repair?
Ozzy50
Makes me slightly ashamed to be a farmer !

daveturnbull
Surely that wouldn't be economical to repair, even for a Defender...

oneandtwo
Surely that wouldn't be economical to repair, even for a Defender... Correct, due to be cut up when I get a free weekend, I thought I'd post pics as some people don't get to see farmer type repairs!
qwakers
i drive a series 3 ocasionally with a fred flintstone bulkhead (cut up a old plastic oil drum and cabletie it to whats left of the floor) and spring hangers held on with wire.... farmer trucks are great. that one obviously never leaves the farm... Jon W
With the way defender prices are going if might be worth saving to be fair. If you were to buy a galv chassis and put that under it. How many original parts are needed to keep the ID? Say that most of it is knackered engine axles etc. Could you swap these out for good replacements from a rotten disco?? Where does the points system draw the line? Say a 300tdi and axles?? Jon
marktdi
You could always rebuild engine and axles if they even need it . Then as above rebuild on galv chassie and keep all the rest as original as pos .
hangover
I would replace that bailing twine................................. with fencing wire, what were they thinking.
