simonr
I think combinations of meaningless letters & numbers sound good: "The New VXB 7000 Nasal Hair Remover as used by Rocket Scientists!" You could use your initials and the amount of pull or pick a selection of other numbers like drum length, number of bolts in the casing etc. This way, the Mk2 version name will reflect the changes too. Although - I think it really needs an 'X' in the title somewhere - makes it sound technical! Si
rtbarton
Or something snappy with a hint of danger, how about "The Scorpion?"
Astro_Al
"The New VXB 7000 Nasal Hair Remover as used by Rocket Scientists!" Si we use the VXBi 8000 nowadays. Keep up man. rtb - wrong colour. Why do names of products always veer towards danger / animals etc? Odd, innit? What are you trying to convey - is the fact that its not a re-fried sewing machine important enough to put in the title? How about Hydrodynamic / Hydrodyn something kind of techy like that? Al.

sheeppimp
I reckon it looks like an Arnold. Not much help though I suspect. on a slightly more serious note why not make up a brand name and then just go for initials and a big number like most winches seem to be, eg: the OX sch12501i ps, I still like Arnold the Winch
BogMonster
LightYearMarker Like a Milemarker, but much faster
FridgeFreezer
I've always liked the pointlessly complex and slightly bizarre names the Japanese give to things, how about: Super Pully Magic Lovely Moist Kitten Deluxe 3000 Longtime And I think I may have found an advertising slogan for electric winches: Jim - you can have that one for free

BogMonster
Or since it vaguely follows the 8274 you could use the same concept... First number as the line pull in '000lb Second number as the "version" (I think?) Year of design That would probably give you a Somethingorother 12108
mike4444244
bit OT but i found the manliest name ever on a torch in costco... it was the 18million candlepower cyclops thor colossus x1000!!!! Mike
bishbosh
Another vote here for Arnold..... or perhaps "Brian"? Or take "Carl" and "Saley" and go for a CS12H (for hydro) or SC12H. Not sure I am proportioning credit / blame to the right people , but you get the gist!
FridgeFreezer
You could go all out and just call it the Motherf***er 12000 <Grabs coat and runs before the mods arrive>
