Guess the weight

Recommended Posts

I looked back through the votes up to Fridge telling us a few were within 20kg, and he's basically telling us it's a whisker under 2 tonnes. I'm more worried that I'm spending my time looking at the distribution of likelihood of weight of someone else's car, and trying to figure out my confidence interval...

2/3 tank of fuel 40kg

~100kgs of cr*p in the back 100kg

I reckon the unladen weight of a 109 petrol motor is 1500 kg

Plus 60 kg extra for the V8

20 kg for the gear boxes

1 litre of petrol is 0.7 kg - so 2/3 of a series ((68 x 2/3) x 0.7) = 31. 7 kg

165 kg for person and kit

portals 100kg - partly for the robust conversion work done ...

25 kg extra for the tyres

10 kg for the wheels...

1911.7 kg ...

Isn't a 109 station wagon 1702 kgs unladen?

Using the calcs above and ignoring the engine bit, the answer would be 2051.7 kg
