dailysleaze
I see they also guessed the starting price correctly, just below the logo
=jon=
The Lego one will probably have better build quality too
western
That appeared on facebook, posted by someone who had seen it on Smyth's toys website, it got pulled, I guess LR weren't happy for it to be posted on Smyth's website.

Popular Post simonr
I'd bet on the Lego model being pretty accurate! They have produced models based on three of the Movies I've worked on (Star Wars VIII, Fantastic Beasts 2 & Spiderman). In each case, the model has been based on actual drawings. In the case of Fantastic Beasts, from Special Effects Drawings I suspect. You see the circle on the top of the roof? There's one on the underside of the chassis too. They didn't appear in the film - because they were the mountings to attach it to a slew-ring on a motion Platform. (I designed the motion platform). That says to me that Lego have good access to drawings - and that the Lego model is likely to be pretty close! That being the case - I quite like it! Si P.S. Almost every rig I've designed has had a Land Rover part in it - guess it's what I know best! Edited June 23, 2019 by simonr
deep
That model is interesting. Looking at the bit in front of the doors, and taking on board that it has independent suspension, this could be a genuine facsimile. Great if they keep the round headlights, boo hiss if they can't get rid of the ugly bonnet bulge they stuck on Puma real Defenders.
Happyoldgit
33 pages of conjecture and speculation on on and such is the dearth of solid info on the real thing it's now down to discussing Lego models in the hope that they look a bit like what the real thing will. Funny old world.
landroversforever
The thing that shouts that it has to be at least pretty close is the fact it’s disappeared from the smyths page so quickly.
Gazzar
Plastic, bits you want to stay together don't. And bits you want to take apart, won't.
mmgemini
LEGO has a six cylinder engine WELL ?
BogMonster
Doing the rounds on various other places, this purports to be a sneaky pic of the dash image on a broken down example of the new vehicle. Doesn't look a lot like Lego but could conceivably fit into the padded cells that have been out driving around.
reb78
The lego model is the closest I will come to owning one, so I guess its actually the most relevant part of this thread to me! 2

Gazzar
Looks okay. I've no problem with the looks.
FridgeFreezer
I quite like the Lego one and the alleged real one.
Bowie69
Yup, the alleged real graphic representation looks pretty OK to me. Snub nose, vertical back, roof line all really help, plus does it look to anyone else that the humped waistline is there? Masai -style windows too? Bonnet bulge? Can't be long until the great reveal. Tanuki
TBH I can't really worry about what-it-looks-like. When you're driving it you're not looking at it. [this is my excuse for only washing my Defender once a year - the day before it goes in for its MOT]. Though I'd rather like "Defender 3.0" to have decent aerodynamics if only to reduce the noise, strange spray-flooding patterns when passing HGVs, and door-tops-pulling-away-from-the-body when cruising at 90MPH. [OK, so I have sympathy for the late Colin Chapman's mindset that "aerodynamics are only of interest to those whose engines are underpowered" - but a decently-aerodynamic vehicle can make towing a trailer at 75MPH while passing a convoy of 56MPH-limited trucks across the Thelwall Viaduct in a gale a lot less of a buttock~clenching event]
Happyoldgit
Seriously, deep down didn't we know all along that it was going to end up looking Skoda Yeti-esque with a JLR family front end nailed on and a bit bigger in size?
Anderzander
Judging by this thread I’d say we had no idea what it was going to look like ?

Shock, horror, gasp etc.!

It is certainly the best of the collection of "maybes" so far. Still a Shogun replacement rather than a Defender replacement though... and why would you randomly have a picture of the car you are sitting in on the middle of the dash? Given that there are now also a bunch of other 'interior photos' on the Landroverphotoalbum group on Faecesbook, I wonder if it's all still part of the misinformation exercise. The dash shown in the other images has a similar looking speedo, but definitely doesn't have the vehicle image. What appears to be supposed to look like the same set of photos also has an air spring in one photo and a coil in another.
Bowie69
Quite common to do that sort of thing when adjusting ride height etc.
